Visiting Orlando for the weekend and came here for our first dinner of the trip. I was really excited for some good, authentic Mexican food. We were seated quickly, which was nice, and it was fairly busy when we arrived.
It took about 5–10 minutes to get our drinks, and we weren’t offered water in the meantime. I ordered the steak taco salad, which I figured would be hard to mess up. The first half was okay, but overall I wasn’t impressed — there was a huge amount of sour cream and guacamole, which made it very mushy and soupy for a taco salad. Unfortunately, I didn’t finish it and mostly ended up eating the chips and salsa.
That said, my boyfriend enjoyed his meal (he ordered something different), so it may depend on what you get. Once the drinks arrived, they were good — we both had the strawberry margarita and really liked them.
Service was okay, but we didn’t get checked on much after the food came out and felt a bit forgotten. Overall, I was disappointed for the price, though I still tipped 20%. I’m not one to complain or make a scene, just sharing my experience.

Fantastic food, service, and atmosphere. Great prices too. My group loved our meal and we wished we had time to go back again before leaving Florida. We enjoyed the steak burrito, Birria tacos and chile relleno. ️

El Tenampa is a local gem. The food is delicious, so fresh, and fairly priced- especially for the area. The atmosphere is classic Mexican restaurant. All staff was kind and welcoming. On a busy Friday night we were well attended to by our server and the busser to clear dishes. Highly recommend!

Absolutely loved this place! The street-style tacos were packed with flavor and tasted fresh and authentic. My husband ordered the chimichanga, and it was perfectly crispy and super satisfying. Don’t get me started on their delicious Horchata. Portions were generous, and everything we tried was delicious. We’ll definitely be back to try more of the menu. Highly recommend if you’re craving great Mexican food!

Don’t be fooled by appearances, El Tenampa is really really good. Food was fantastic end to end. Great price, good heat on the chilli and fresh. Absolutely nailed it. Drinks were affordable and sofa refills quick. Server was lovely polite fast and kind. Couldn’t ask for more. The atmosphere was good with a cozy room and booths making seating comfy. But after all it’s a simple place and atmosphere isn’t key here.

I ordered takeout and was very surprised. The tacos were very well served, the red salsa was delicious and spicy (the green one was bad), and the carne asada burrito was also very well made. It exceeded my expectations; I didn’t think it would be good!

The only reason for the 4 star rating is due to the wait time for the food. There were so many options to choose from but since we dine at Mexican restaurants often, we already knew what to order. The birria and shrimp tacos are usually good and most of the tacos start at $2.50 each. We also came around 9 pm which was a very busy time…. But if you’re visiting the Kissimmee area, this restaurant does not disappoint when it comes to authentic Mexican cuisine.

Parents recommended this place, we finally got to give it a go and y’all, it was so good! You won’t be disappointed. Cute interior, kind and hard workers, chips and salsa to start was delicious, but the food!!! Wet chicken burrito was a beast, and incredibly delicious. Go get it! Highly highly recommend
