We discovered El Tejocote Mexican Restaurant a few months ago and have been going back since! It is the best Mexican restaurant in the Hernando area. The food has great flavor and arrives hot to our table. We don’t eat out a lot, but when we do, our go to now is El Tejocote! The service is good, the staff is very friendly, and the food is always flavorful.

We decided to give El Tejocote a try after getting burned out on all the local Mexican restaurants. We had a pleasant experience there. The cheese dip was good the chips were ok. I had the El Tejocote chimichanga and it was pretty good. My wife had a chicken and shrimp dish that was dang good. Everyone was happy with their food. The beer was ice cold but they don’t have margaritas.

I’ve stopped here twice while in the area for work. It’s what you’d expect… if you like chorizo, theirs is very good. Plain tasting guacamole dip tho, it needs something, lime maybe. It’s a bit more expensive compared to similar restaurants in surrounding cities…. but it’s the only option in that area so you gonna pay it and be mad… or you gonna be hungry and be mad. Pick one.

This place was great! I had dined in before but got take out to test consistency and both the staff and food are still worth every bit of 5 stars. The food is of course hot and fresh, the salsa was fantastic with the right amount of heat and flavor, and the wait time was minimal. Would definitely recommend trying this place out

I loved this Mexican place, I travel lot to this state for work and I would say is one of the top Mexican restaurant food I’ve visit here. The food was really fresh. I ordered a taco vegetarian salad and all the vegetables were cooked correctly and it was really enjoyable the taste. Specially the cucumber and mushrooms just simply great combination of flavors. Im also vegetarian and I loved this placed had a menu with vegetarian dishes.The staff was really friendly and took great care of us as well as the owner super friendly and professional. Definitely coming back on my next trip. Highly recommend it!
