El Tapatio Restaurant & Cantina is all about family. We were started by a husband-wife duo back in 1984, and now their son and daughter are leading our team, continuing the family’s tradition of bringing authentic Mexican food to Pleasant Hill. Our menu has something for everyone in your family to enjoy: fajitas, burritos, enchiladas, all of your favorite classics. And don’t forget to pair your meal with a house margarita or Negra Modelo. We can’t wait to show you why we’ve been a local favorite for over 30 years.
Laid-back Mexican bistro offering burritos & other classic dishes plus a brunch buffet & full bar.

I wish they always had music in the background, before last time it was way too quiet for my preference.
I think i enjoyed more the mango margarita vs the peach one.
Staff is friendly, food comes out fast and their complementary chips and salsa are delicious!!!
The food was so tasty that I worry that it must not be very healthy, but so what. 🙂
Service was mas menos. We were seated quickly and our orders were taken and arrived quickly. After that the service wasn’t great. I asked to split the bill (between me and my coworker) when our orders were being taken. The waitress said “No problem.” After waiting around (being passed by numerous times without being checked on by the waitress) for about 15 minutes after eating, I finally flagged her down to get our checks so that we could get back to work. I gave her my card (for my meal) and she charged everything to my card even though we asked for a split bill at the beginning. The splitting of the check is not such a big deal but it is still part of the “service” experience and we were late at getting back to work.
*Bonus content* I don’t know if it’s a coincidence or not, but about 2 hours after lunch I was in the bathroom with a bad stomach ache that didn’t go away until later that evening. Don’t make the same mistake that I did. There are two Mexican restaurants that have similar names. This one is the wrong place. Go to the “female gender”named restaurant which is:
“La Tapatia”
^^^that’s the right place and you won’t be disappointed or sick to your stomach.
