Placed a to go order over phone I got two carne asada burritos and a carne asada plate, Two horchatas 75$ (left a 15$ tip as well) so 90$
Food was cold
Long wait
Wasnt greeted upon arrival ignored
Received cold food and sad portions my burrito was a plain flour tortilla with chunks of steak nothing else. Not even warm at the bare minimum.

A small establishment with big flavors. If you want more than just tacos, this is the place to go.
Service was minimal however that is how I liked it. I already knew what I wanted, I ate alone and didn’t need anything because the waitress thought of every detail and was very polite.
I won’t get the ground beef with mole again. But the mole was so good I will go back, maybe with chicken next time. The chips were hot, and the beer was cold. Great dinner in my opinion. I will eat here again soon.

My husband took me here for my birthday and the food was fantastic. I ordered Camarones al Mojo De Ajo because every cook does it different and El Tapatio’s cook did not disappoint.
My husband ordered the seafood Enchilada dish and it was phenomenal too. I think I’m going to order it next time.
The food is not the same as authentic Mexican dishes, it is one of the best Americanized Mexican food I’ve had in a while.
When the Hispanic community cooks with love, it can be tasted in the end product. This restaurant made the world go away for my birthday.

I’ve been going to this restaurant for a very long time and it’s always been average. The last handful of times we’ve been here the food has been AMAZING! We went this evening and we decided we would not be going to any other Mexican restaurant around Scappoose or St. Helens other than here because it has been slapping so hard. The drinks are always great and the servers are really nice. The service can sometimes leave room for improvement but I never go to a Mexican restaurant without wanting to enjoy company and have a couple margs so it doesn’t bother me at all. I will take delicious food and nice people 10 times out of 10.

Food is consistent and ok, but lacks flavor. I had carnitas last time I was there, which just tasted like cooked meat, no spice, not marinated. The molcajete bowl lacked some of the traditional ingredients, there was not much meat in it, and the broth was just a green sauce. The staff are normally engaging and kind, but last time we were in I noticed our server was not particularly friendly. When we asked how she was doing she replied sharply, we’re busy. I looked around the restaurant and it was less than half full, and the bar was empty. I pondered why she would be treating us so differently after we left, and I thought maybe it was because my husband was wearing his camo Trump hat. This is a mostly conservative area so I don’t see how that is a surprise, and why it would change our service, we meant no offense. Just wanted to have lunch. The restaurant is always clean and the atmosphere is nice. I don’t think we will be back for a while though.

The staff were all friendly and attentive. Little did we know, we were both going to be violently ill for three days after eating the super burrito. I am taking a hiatus on Mexican food altogether. It may be years before I can have red sauce again.

Unfortunately, our experience was disappointing to say the least due to the service of our male waiter. He repeatedly interrupted and wouldn’t finish listening to our orders, after this happened to the 3rd person in our party, we politely asked him to please let us finish so our orders would be correct, he responded by telling us to “calm down,” which was disrespectful, unnecessary, dismissive and unprofessional. We were respectful throughout and simply wanted to be heard. Good service is about listening to guests, and sadly that was missing during our visit. When we decided to leave, he refused to give his name or the owner’s name when asked, and continually argued with us about this. This level of unprofessionalism is unacceptable, and we won’t be returning.

We just took a chance. We are from out of town and boy we were glad we did. I had the Tostada De Ceviche omg it was wonderful , my husband had the special Chile Verde plate the meat so so tender he just cut it with a fork. Service was fabulous everyone checking on us and food came in reasonable time Mango Margaritas very tasty. We will be back if come through again.
