I have been to the Citrus Heights location, and they did not miss a beat here in Natomas. I have been here 3 times in the last two weeks and the food has been fantastic. The atmosphere is great and it would seem they are set up for another succesfful location.
The reason for the 4-star service rating is during my second visit, for lunch, my friend was served the wrong burrito, and the server didn’t seem to understand the issue. The third time, for dinner, I order a spicy mango mezcalita, but was served a regular mezcalita but decided to just roll with it (the drink was tasty). I tried ordering the spicy mango again, and was again served the wrong cocktail. This time I said something, the server apologized, walked away for only a few minutes, and returned with a drink. It appeared they added mango syrup, or puree, I stead of remaking my drink. It was not good. I also requested their green salsa (my personal favorite) three times but we never received it. Also, we had to ask four times for my wife to get her tortillas for her fajitas.
The food it amazing. I have had the Chicken Mole and it is amazing, the Fluatas (also great), and quesabirria tacos which were good but not my favorite. My wife said the enchiladas are delicious as well as the fajitas. My son loved the ceviche and my daughter enjoyed her tamales. I will continue to come to this restaurant and hope that the service improves.

I have enjoyed many excellent dinners at El Tapatio on Sunrise Blvd. This is my first time trying their new location in Natomas. It is an excellent choice too. The new El Tapatio is as good as their original restaurant on Sunrise Blvd. The service is enthusiastic and attentive. The food and drinks are so delicious and generous. The dining room is not as impressive as their original restaurant, but it is still terrific. I love to have another El Tapatio a little closer to my home. I hope they will open one in Elk Grove soon.

I went here with a large group from church last week and the service was amazing ! We thoroughly
enjoyed the live mariachi band . They played a special song request for our table and we sing our hearts out. The waitresses were also super friendly and attentive even with a large group . However the food was a little underwhelming. I ordered a grilled chicken salad as a back up in case I didn’t like the street tacos . I loved the corn tortillas but the meat on each lacked flavor , even with salsa and squeezed limes to top. The steak was overcooked sadly. It wasn’t terrible to eat ,but I was expecting more . However I would eat here again to enjoy the atmosphere. Lastly , the grilled chicken salad was decent . I added squeezed lime, salsa verde . and shredded cheese but I should have asked for dressing . Overall , I enjoyed myself !

We thoroughly enjoyed our meal! The chips, salsa and beans were so good that we ate too much, and we ended up taking the majority of our dinner home. Even reheated the food was very tasty. Great atmosphere and service. Love the mariachi band!

First time going here, Used to go to th place that was here previously. El tapatio blows it out of the water. Easily some of the best food I’ve had in a long time. Tge prices are fair and the staff are very welcoming and friendly. Also very attentive. While I didn’t get anything on it they do have a vegetarian menu that looked amazing. Also important to note they are wheelchair accessible very considerate. Be careful of the portion sizes they give alot of food and it is dense so there’s no shame in a to go bag. Also free chips and salsa enough said

Coming from the great On The Border location, which has been vacant for years. El Tapatio still lets their reputation proceed them. With a few locations that is family owned, they still have that local charm that Natomas desperately needs. The feeling in the restaurant was vibrant and fulfilling. I went on a Thursday for Happy Hour and I was not disappointed at all.

Came in on opening night and you can honestly tell the employees were happy to represent the restaurant. I ordered the Quesa Birrias with a house margarita, wasn’t too bad at all. Food came out quick and service was even better. The live music was also a plus!
