If you are looking for authentic Mexican this is the place. We stopped here after seeing their advertisement at the Ice Arena down the street. It was a great choice. The staff (family run) were so nice friendly and informative. It is a nice small place well decorated and cozy. The margherita’s were so good that we had to have another. We only had apps of nachos & flautas and let me say the best we have ever had. Nachos & salsa to start were great as well. Even though we live 1/2 hour away we will be back!

Went here with my kids today for the first time and was blown away. Food is very authentic and absolutely delicious! It is rare I can find a place for myself and picky kids to all enjoy but El Tapatio nailed it! Kids and I loved it and excited to come back with my husband. Chips were served warm with fresh made salsa. I get fish tacos everywhere I go and the fish tacos here were hands down the best I ever had. This is definitely our new go to spot and we couldn’t be happier. Thank you El Tapatio for bringing authentic and absolutely scrumptious Mexican food to Simsbury!

Had a lovely dining experience at El Tapatio. All the dishes had big portion sizes. I really liked the cactus burrito especially with their spicy salsa. If you like spice definitely ask for their spicy salsa. My brother got the arroz con pollo and felt there was less rice compared to the chicken and veggies. Overall a fantastic experience the service was great, will definitely be visiting again soon.

This is the best Mexican food in the Valley and would have no problems competing for the best Mexican food in the State! The food is fresh and authentic. Restaurant has a NYC feel, which makes the experience fun. We absolutely loved our meals which were served quickly after ordering. The hospitality of owners, Dan and Maria were exceptional! I highly recommend a visit to this gem located in Simsbury! I would definitely plan the dinner, seating is limited, but customers appear to be conscientious of their surroundings. We were in and out in less than 40 minutes.

Ever since I went to San Diego/Southern Cali, the Mexican food back home in CT felt like it never compared. After trying El Tapatío, I finally found the flavors that met the increased standards I had for Mexican food! The seating area is small, but other than that the atmosphere, service, and food is absolutely top notch. I can’t get over how great the food was, how attentive the servers are, and the great price. Their slogan “See you tomorrow” is very tempting after trying once! Definitely ask for the hot salsa if you can handle Habanero, even with the spice the flavors are so good you can’t stop eating it! This is the type of place I wish I had a bigger stomach to eat more. Thank you for a wonderful meal, we will be back!

I had the three steak tacos, and they were delicious & a perfect meal. The service was excellent with minimal wait time, and the environment was very friendly. The horchata drink is a must-try, I loved it. I also ordered two fajita meals (chicken and steak) for my family, and they loved them as well. Great food and very authentic Mexican cuisine. I will definitely return.
