We’ve been hearing great things about El Taco Rustico for a while and we decided to give it a try. We ordered chips and salsa, and a few tacos: carne asada, El pastor, shrimp, mahi mahi and nopales con Chile. Yes, we were hungry. Let me just start by saying everything was cooked on the spot and came out nice and hot. The carne asada was too delicious, so was the El pastor. The shrimp and fish tacos were excellent, they come in corn tortillas and a full of cheese as well, yum!! The nopales one was amazing as well. Everything was great, the salsas were fresh (the smoky one is spicy) and service was spot on. I’m definitely looking for the next time I’m going there!

Don’t let the humble outward appearance fool you, this place is epic, with a capital E. If you’re a taco connoisseur, aficionado, this your heaven. There is an exhaustive list of tacos to choose from, in addition to other south of the border dishes, but the tacos shine, shine, shine. We ordered 5 different tacos, 10 in all, and they all went down like “buttah”. The Shrimp, Carnitas, Quesobirria (a must order if you order nothing else), Carne Asada, and Chiccharon with Salsa (decent, different, least favorite). To say the kitchen has conspired with culinary deities, would be correct, there is magic happening here, in spades. The flavors? BIG. The meats? Slowed cooked succulence. Oh yes, culinary craft work is a foot. The space? Don’t worry about it, its modest, the only thing you’ll see is the food, blinding you with taste. Beverages, there’s a decent selection to temporarily wet your palate, while ingesting all that goodness. Did I say it was good? If I did, that was an understatement. It’s otherworldly.

First time at the Oracle location. Was in the area at breakfast time so thought I should try the breakfast burrito . Got the carne asada. You can pick any of their meats, except maybe hard to put beef ribs on a bfast burrito, hahaha. Seriously this is one of the few places in town with beef ribs that I’ve found. Burrito was amazing by the way. And very friendly service.

Very disappointed as we were sent here by someone claiming these were the best tacos in Tucson. The nopales one was so salty to the point of being inedible – I couldn’t finish it. The chicken one was very bland. The calabacitas was ok but nothing amazing.

Visiting from Phoenix, and grabbed lunch here on a recommendation. Was not disappointed! The flavor they pack here is incredible. Had to come back two more times before we left. Quesabirria was so good, damn near had me drinking the consomé. Tamales were fantastic.
Rumor has it a future location might be coming to the Valley…I’ve yet to find a taco spot in Phoenix that comes even close to the food here!

The reviews are true. Some of the best quesabirria I’ve ever had. The service is quick and friendly. The plate of 3 combo was plenty filling and a Mexican Fresca is worth it all. Easy parking. The restaurant is a bit plain and tired but who cares, the food was top notch.
