I ordered 2 soft tacos con al pastor. My issue with most Mexican restaurant tacos are how dry the meat can be but this by far the closest to great but not as great getting it fresh from stands. It was juicy and perfectly seasoned. It’s not dry at all. The Salsa was delicious and perfectly spicy. Worth the $9, including the Horchata. Super Delicious!

I’d like to comment about the place and the service. They were quick and fast. I mean it’s not high end so I’m expecting top tier service either. They really were responsive as much possible. Three people working a not very busy afternoon. They really did a good job. I wish they have a tip option for orders. Pretty clean for the most part. I love the chairs. 4.3/5 If I could.

I like the fact that the have the menu with picture in front of the counter. That helps a lot for those who aren’t familiar with the dishes like myself. Price is decent, comparable to food truck price with all the convenience. Nothing outstanding from the service but the atmosphere is good. The food has generous portion but quality wise is okay, not bad but not great either

With so many restaurants to choose from, we thought we might try El Taco Llama in Newhall. We were impressed by the artistry, the colorful chairs and tables. As for the food, I was really happy with my Chile Relleno. It tasted fresh and it was covered in a tasty sauce, peppers tomatoes and onions. It was not inundated with cheese inside or it, allowing for the pepper flavor to survive. Even the plates were vibrant. If I have one small issue, it was with the wimpy plastic forks and knives after such a lovely presentation of their food, it just seems wrong. I understand the economics of it, just not the aesthetics.

Asada fries were not great! The meat was flavorless Disappointed that it came with melted cotija cheese(who puts melted cotija on nachos) and fires were overall full of oil. Just bad wish to get my money back

Visiting Santa Clarita for the day and wanted a Mexican breakfast. We landed at El Taco Llama because many places are closed on Monday. The menu had pictures of everything and you order at the counter and pick up your food. We ordered the #6 Huevos a la Mexicana and a #10 combo Quesadilla con carne asada and a carne asada taco. Each order had a side of rice and beans and a little salad with guac sauce. They have two options of salsa – red and a spicy green one. Place is cute with a nod to soccer too. Service was good, we were the only people when we arrived and the food took a bit long to come out. They announce your order so make sure you’re listening for it. It started to get a little busier after 11am. The food was okay, the rice and beans were flavorless and warm to cool. I think they prep the cold plate before adding the main hot food which also wasn’t hot. The eggs were overcooked as well. The carne quesadilla was tasty and so was the taco. At least it was a little warmer and not cold. They can improve on their napkins and utensils. No napkins or spices available – you need to ask for them. There is parking all over. The place look’s clean. I think this place has potential. No one likes cold and flavorless food. It was $27 for both meals and no drinks.

For a first-timer like me, this taqueria exceeded my expectations, despite the stale chips. Maybe what made me love this place was that the red salsa at the bar tastes exactly like my mom’s. After all, mom’s cooking never disappoints. The delicious food and affordable prices more than made up for the chips, perfect for me, my wife, and 2 kids.

We have been here many times before. Their food is terrific and the prices are reasonable.
The people behind the counter are extremely friendly and knowledgeable.

I had the Menudo and was a little disappointed that it was made sin grano (that means without hominy for all us güeros out there lol) but it was awesome that they hecho con pata (make it with pig feet). It was also a little under-seasoned for my taste. But once we added the usual add.ins (cilatro, onion, oregano, red chili, and lime) and some salt…. now we eating good! The menudo itself was tender with a good flavor, so they cleaned it well before cooking. The pieces could have been a bit smaller, like the size of a quarter rather than the size of poker chip.

My wife had the ceviche tostada. The fish was a little mushy, and they did not quite balance the seasoning with the lemon, tomato onion, and tabasco. But the tostada was light and crispy and they were generous with the avocado. Overall, it was pretty good.

The dining area had plenty of seeting and included movable tables and chairs, which makes it very convenient for a large family meals. The chair backs are each hand painted and carved are a delight.

This is a walk up and order and pick up your food style place so service was pretty good. The bathroom needed a little attention.

Overall, it’s not a bad place at all with a little bit of tweeking on the seasoning of their food this place could be at least a 4.5.

This is my favorite place in SCV to get carne asada burritos! I’m a loyal frequent customer and noticed last night that they updated the picture on the wall of their different plates, it looked great and made the cashier area really stand out! Staff is always very professional and friendly. Can’t wait to get my next carne asada burrito fix.
