Just go you won’t be disappointed.
Caio.
The tacos al carbon are exceptional and the margaritas are adequate.
Good chips and salsa and the place isn’t real loud or disturbing.
A plus is the you can checkout with your phone. Don’t forget the tip.
Highly recommend if you’re staying in one of the nearby hotels.
Both times we tried different combinations. They were OK. Not bad, but not very flavorful or decisively seasoned. People who cook know the usual Latin spice combinations. The Chile rellenos was very small. It tasted OK, but not worth the calorie load. Rice was tasteless. Enchiladas were OK. The spinach and chicken were the best choice. Here is the strange part… the red sauce was canned marinara or spaghetti sauce. It was NOT anything Mexican. Anyone that cooks from scratch recognizes that flavor immediately. It was very out of place with the dishes it was poured over.
That being said, this isn’t a bad place, especially if you don’t have all the options we are used to in Chicago. It’s also not a bad value compared to other options. I suspect that it’s very popular for families with young children.
Humble surroundings.
They have very nice decor inside, making it look like a little town place and -you guessed it” a few sombreros on the walls…
Service was quick albeit the waiter was a little dry and short. Glad to say he got all our orders right with no issues and was checking on us every now and then.
Food portions are a bit on the small side, but the prices for these parts are very cheap on most menu items.
They have your typical tortillas chips and salsa.
Salsa is a bit tangy but spicy as well and a nice complement to the chips. Also nice touch to have them come in a little jar to pour in the containers.
I had a fajita platter combo with chicken and steak and like I said, portion on the meat was a little on the small side. Enough to fix about 3 to maybe 4 fajita wraps on small tortillas.
The Guacamole was a miss, but their Spanish rice is “legit” good.
All in all, it’s a nice place to have your texmex fix and it’s above your average “Mexican restaurant”.
Definitely give them a try.
One of the first things I noticed was how incredibly clean everything is. The tables, floors, and even the restrooms are spotless. You can tell they take pride not only in their food but in every detail of their restaurant.
Every single bite of food is bursting with fresh, authentic flavor. You can truly taste the love and care that goes into each dish. Their portions are generous, and everything is served hot and beautifully plated.
It’s rare to find a place that’s this consistent in both quality and service, but they have truly mastered it. I can confidently say it’s the BEST Mexican food around!
