Read the reviews and stopped in. This place did not disappoint! The salsa exceeded my expectations. The chile rellenos was on point. My husband ranted about the barbacoa, it was authentic barbacoa, not the brisket most restaurants serve. The quesabirria wasn’t greasy and so good. I didn’t expect to find such good food in Vernal.

If you’re passing through Vernal, looking for a place to eat – and not sure where to go, please go to El Sombrero. The food was absolutely outstanding. We are from Salt Lake – and very serious about making it a point to come back later this year. The staff was so kind, the atmosphere was incredible – and I can’t recommend the beans and rice enough.

The food was good and prepared quickly, and the women working there were nice. They have many drink options in the restaurant, which was pretty nice. The food wasn’t spicy at all, so we’re wondering if that’s something maybe we should have had to request? Otherwise, we would absolutely come here again.

Very clean restaurant, the food is good but very mild. They have a good salsa bar so you can turn up the heat if you want too. Laura was very nice and got us everything we needed.

Mini chimis were delicious. Chicken enchilada sauce tasted too much like nutmeg.

We read the other reviews before we went. Sure enough, the outside might make you drive by. But that is a mistake. It was some of the best salsa I have ever had and that was the beginning of the meal. The burritos, beans, rice, mini chimis, guacamole, were so good. I ate until I could eat no more. It was so good I would happily return.

I forgot to add the Horchata was delicious.

Excellent Mexican fare in an old gas station, very inventive and authentic. Service was great and tasty food!
Plenty of parking, menu selection cooked fresh to order. Not 5 star due to lackluster locale and lack of ambience. BUT, the food is great!

Really good food and very tasty, they also have the biggest variety of drinks, juices and sodas you could ever imagine.
Let me tell you about their service: it is excellent and exceptional!!! They are so on top of things and the servers are so nice and friendly. The only thing that is missing to be a 5 star place is that they need to organize and hide their supplies and boxes inside the store much better.

This is legit Home made food made with love. Sounds corny , but go try and you will see I am not joking.

The Carne Asada burrito is one of the best I’ve ever had and the Tamales were just as tasty.

Great service and food , you will kick yourself if you don’t stop and visit. It’s super clean and they have all the good sugary sodas in glass bottles my doc tells me not to drink.

One tip, My 15 year son and I could have easily been filled up with one burrito they’re huge! But we waddled out fat and happy happily chugging sugar cane coca colas.
