Food was good, however the prices are completely ridiculous. By far probably the highest price for Mexican food in the area including Ruston and no specials on drinks. Margarita over $10 a combination plate with 2 items and rice and beans was $16 we went at lunch time. And it was empty. The food was good but no way was it worth the price. I would not and will not go back. Too many other Mexican restaurants in this area.

Very good authentic Mexican restaurant. The chips and salsa are very good. I would advise to ask for chopped cilantro to mix into your salsa. Just trust me on that one. The portion sizes are generous and the service is outstanding. Most of them can’t speak English but they can understand you enough to take a order. If you’re asking questions and they don’t understand they will go get an English speaking employee. Don’t order wine here. They have wine it’s just not good wine. I ordered a grilled chicken plate that had mushrooms and bacon covered with cheese sauce. Served with beans and rice. DELICIOUS! My daughter ordered shrimp fajitas and they were delicious. The tortillas are made fresh and are delicious. Our overall experience was a delight.

My team from work had a reservation at a different Mexican restaurant which had a plumbing issue. At the last second, El Sombrero accepted a large party of 25.
They were excellent! Service & greeter were warm & inviting. My Miss Kimmy Margarita was superb & so was my friend’s Sangria. Their guacamole was some of the best I’ve ever had. The food was vibrant & colorful. My steak fajita quesadilla tasted as good as it looked.
My friend & I are making plans to return soon via Uber!

I ordered carry out my food was hot and quickly prepared. My meal was fresh and still hot when I walked back to my hotel room. I will definitely eat here again.

I have been back multiple times now and the service, meal quality and quantity doesn’t seem to be consistent. To the point where I don’t think I will be returning for the foreseeable future.
Loved the gourmet Gaucamole bowl. My only regret was I put my to go box of food down on the table to put on my jacket. Was then distracted by the robot and left having forgotten about my to go box of food, which was my seafood fajitas,

We’ve been here on numerous occasions over several years. It’s always been a place that has accommodated our large groups despite last minute notices. Every time, we have had great service, food delivered promptly and hot, and all orders brought to the table without mistakes on any of the orders. And we are never rushed out the door after finishing our meals. Thanks for making our last minute family gatherings great.

Highly disappointed… the past 3 times we have ate here the food and service has been horrible and this used to be our favorite Mexican food restaurant. This time we had 3 food orders wrong in our group of 8 only 6 of us ordered food and the other 2 only ordered drinks. Never got out queso or guacamole when inasked for it as an appetizer to eat with chips and salsa, server wasn’t attentive. I ordered the seafood ranchero (which comes with queso on it) only had 3/4 shrimp on my plate asked for the queso to be on the side and not on the meal itself then he charged me for a 6$ side of queso and I told him I never ordered a side of queso and he argued with me. My friend had the same thing but shrimp and chicken ranchero we were all comepletly done eating by the time she got her food. So much more I could say but this place definitely isn’t it anymore…
