Went here for lunch with my parents. I ordered the chile relleno and my mom the Carne Azteca special. Both of our meals were good. The atmosphere was a bit dull due to the start of the lunch hour and service was alright. A nominal experience.

My favorite place for Mexican food. Pricing is reasonable and the food comes out hot and fresh. These pictures with the review show a full order of Texas Fajita Nachos. This kept me full for the rest of the day.
The service was great. The server friendly. The chips served are warm and the salsa not too spicy.

They are trying to steal money from some people by upcharging them for full portions but serving small. The little food that I did receive was good but they were being very skimpy on the servings. They have gone up on their pricing, ridiculous I love El sombrero’s but this location is not it….. It might be the person running it….. But it needs new management and a new cook….. I had gone once before and it was bad service; but 6 months had passed by and I was really craving it. Disappointed don’t waist you time or money at this location

I have been visiting “El Som” since 1994. They recently renovated the entire inside, to include new booths and a full bar to sit at. If you were there before, I encourage you to come back and see what they have done with the place! The food is always fresh, the beer is always cold, and the margaritas are strong. Portions and heavy hands are what you can expect when you come to get some authentic Mexican food. Texas fajita nachos is a recommended dish, one of my favorites if you like chicken, steak, and shrimp. The staff is quick, and food comes out without an extended wait.

The Salsa for the chips is just delicious! Maribel was our server today, she is great and attentive, she told us that they make their own salsa, with natural ingredients, that’s why is so tasty, not too spicy. The food was out quickly, and everything was really good, we are coming back soon for more chips and salsa!

If I could leave only a bad review without any stars I would. Terrible service!!! To start off with the terrible experience my husband and I had when we walked in we stood around waiting for someone to greet us. The person at the front, whom I’ll assume is the owner, didn’t even say hello. He simply turned around and acted as if we hadn’t just walked in. We were taken to table, which you can see in the picture attached was littered with trash underneath. We were served chips and salsa and before we could start eating them the salsa was taken away and replaced( not sure what that was about). We had intended to start with and appetizer and possibly also get drinks but based on the way we had been treated up to that point we decided to skip those and instead ordered our main dish. I ordered the pollo ranchero which actually wasn’t half bad if you can get past the grease puddle in the plate. The waiter hardly spoke to us other than to take our order. When the food was brought out the plates were slammed on the table and also when we asked for straws, instead of handing them to us, he placed them at the edge of the table. Honestly if you want a good experience at a Mexican restaurant I would go elsewhere. Terrible terrible service.

The place is decent, the waiter was nice. I had steak fajitas which was good in flavor overall but the meat was not tender it was thin strips but chewy. My main reason for a 3 star is because there was a employee lady sitting next to me on her break talking with someone on the phone on camera and loud speaker. This was annoying as I went to disconnect and relax and she was extremely loud and the conversation took about 20 or 30 minutes. I and other guest gave indication by glancing over and hoping she would realize she was being to loud but that didn’t work.

They forget food whenever you order for takeout a lot and ouu it also seems like they take money out of their paychecks with the little amount of food that they serve!
You want some fajitas?? Well you’ll only get served about 30% meat and 70% vegetables And that plate with rice and beans well enjoy a T spoon of rice and a T spoon of beans with a dust of cheese….smh never again
