We visited this restaurant for lunch based on its 4.3 rating, but the experience was very disappointing. We were told to “sit anywhere” with no guidance. I ordered a cheese quesadilla with avocado and lettuce and clearly said I don’t eat meat, yet I found meat in the avocado. When I asked for a replacement, they only removed the avocado instead of making a fresh dish. There were flies around the food, even on the lettuce, and our food was served without plates or cutlery. Although we were only four people, gratuity was added. Before seeing this, we had rounded up the bill to tip, but removed it after noticing gratuity. Our bill showed $71.87, but we were charged $74.24. I would not recommend this place.

Our primary concern remains the discrepancy in the bill. The initial bill presented to us was $71.88, but we ultimately paid $74.27. There is still no clear explanation as to why we were charged extra, and this difference in amount is unacceptable without proper clarification.
Additionally, I had clearly informed your staff beforehand that I do not eat meat. Despite this, meat was included in the food served to us. This is a serious issue, as my dietary preference was explicitly communicated, and it was not respected.
Regarding the gratuity, we were not informed about this charge at the time of payment. We only asked about it afterward. We had voluntarily added a tip because we value the effort of your staff. However, when we inquired about the gratuity, your staff informed us that gratuity had already been added and specifically asked us to remove the tip, stating that we were otherwise being charged extra. We removed it only because your staff instructed us to do so.
As per your policy, gratuity applies to groups of five or more people, not per table. We were only four people, so we are unclear why this charge was applied in our case.
Please also check with your staff regarding whether we initially attempted to leave a tip, as this seems to have been overlooked in your response.
Furthermore, we observed multiple flies roaming around our table and even landing on our food while we were dining. This is highly unhygienic and raises serious concerns about food safety and cleanliness in your restaurant.
While your message mainly focused on the tip, our real concerns are the extra charges we were billed, the incorrect application of gratuity, the inclusion of meat in a vegetarian meal, and the unhygienic conditions at our table. We expect these issues to be taken seriously and addressed appropriately.

We came in for lunch and had a really good experience. The staff was welcoming and let us choose our own table, which we actually liked because we could sit where we wanted. The food came out fresh and hot, and everything tasted homemade and full of flavor.
I ordered a quesadilla and it was crispy, cheesy, and not greasy at all. The portions were great for the price, and the service was quick even though they were busy. The place had a laid-back vibe and we didn’t feel rushed.
Overall it was a solid meal and we’ll definitely be back to try more items on the menu.

One of my favorite Mexican spots for breakfast. Everything tastes fresh and homemade, and you can tell they actually care about quality. The breakfast plates are always hot, filling, and full of flavor, and their homemade salsas are the best. I always ask for extra because they’re seriously that good.
What I also appreciated is how clean the restaurant is. The tables, floors, and overall dining area looked well kept, which makes the whole experience even better.
Shoutout to the manager Jonatan! He came by our table to check on us, asked how our food tasted, and made sure we didn’t need anything else. That kind of service goes a long way and you don’t see it everywhere anymore.
Definitely recommend for a solid breakfast and great customer service. We’ll be back!

”Had a great breakfast at El Sol De Mexico this morning. You really can’t go wrong with their steak and eggs—the food was delicious and the service was attentive and friendly. It’s clearly a solid spot for authentic flavors in Corpus.
My only complaint is that the management allows solicitors to come in off the street and approach tables while people are eating. It’s hard to fully enjoy a meal when you’re being asked to buy things at your table. If they addressed the solicitation policy, this would easily be a 5-star experience.”
