We really enjoyed the food we had at El Sitio the other night! The most impressive and unique menu item for us for the Jibarito sandwich which used a plantain instead of bread! I also thought their rice was incredible and so flavorful. The pernil, empanadas, wings, and ribs were all great too, and the alcapurrias de guineo was a new food for me that I really liked as well. The owner’s wife makes the desserts, and we thought the tres leches was very good. It felt good supporting this family-owned business, and they were so kind.

Very friendly staff. I ordered white rice and beans, rice a little bit hard, beans look like water with color, the pork ( pernil) tender but lack of flavor. The chicken soup, just water with chicken flavor, nothing special.

I was looking forward to eat again en El Sitio. I had came here a few months ago. The food was really good. I finally was able to come to Connecticut since I live in Boston. I had ordered online after I had paid for the food my order was canceled, I was very disappointed. Tried calling several times couldn’t get through. When I finally made it to the restaurant they only had the scrap food. Im not sure how we ened up paying double of what I was ordering online when I had gotten way less food. It was horrible. I understand they were an hour away from closing but instead of giving us a deal, I felt like they had double charged us. The Bacalaito was fryed in old oil. The empanadillas were very small. The pernil was horrible. The rice was burnt, the carne guisa was salty. The papa rellena taste like the potato came out a box. Food was unbelievably nasty. So diassapointed the girl was very nice just they seemed as they were ready to leave with the bag in the counter.

Friendly staff. Decent parking. Meat was tender, just lacked flavor. Rice a bit hard as well. I will try a few other items and re rate them. A little disappointed thinking the guisado was going to be better. Pernil was sub par as well. It was a late Sunday so Maybe it wasn’t as fresh.

This spot is a gem! My compliments to Chef Cito who cooks food as if it was made in the mountains of Puerto Rico. The customer service was great. The young lady greeted us with a smile and and the place is super clean. The food was flavorful and the fried platanos and carne frita are made fresh to your order. This young man cooks as if he has the soul of a traditional Puerto Rican Abuela❤️. The portions are perfect and priced well. If you are in the mood for fresh, traditional and flavorful PR food this is the place to go. Come by and show this business some love. We will definitely come back again.

Visited for the first time and was impressed with the flavors and the vibe. The food was really good and the service was excellent. I highly recommend as you will not be disappointed. You most definitely will be impressed with the alcapurrias de guineo. They are the best alcapurrias I’ve ever had. Everything else I had was great. Go give them a try.

Not a good experience, ordered my food ,waited for about fifteen minutes, asked about my order told it would be another 4 minutes, the chef comes out and asked who had the two alcapurrias.i responded,he said the alcapurria opened during frying did I still want it ,I said yes I’ll take it (waited too long). When I got home and opened the greasy bag with my alcapurria it was burnt literally like coal ( the cook had the audacity to sell this to any customer let along me !! I wanted to go back and ask the cook would he eat this lump of coal or pass it on to a customer like he did me,my food was cold and my alcapurrias burnt.

Went looking for alcapurruas. Since it was the first time only ordered two. Inside they were flavorful but unfortunately the outside was burned. The burned oil taste was overwhelming. Please turn the heat down when frying.

My sister just picked up a dinner of pernil con arroz y habicuelas and it’s DELICIOUS. I can’t personally speak for the customer service BUT my sis regaled me with her whole story of discovering this place was right around the corner from her and what a nice conversation she had with the women helping her when she picked up her order. Also the acapurria is yummy, lots of juicy meat with a crunchy exterior def check them out if you’re in the area and enjoy Puerto Rican cuisine!
