Possibly the best paella I’ve had anywhere in the world. The flavours… all complemented each other so well, and so intense.
When the cheesecake came out for dessert it looked a little disappointing, as if both the cake itself and the ice cream had been sitting out in the heat too long (and I think this is true) but regardless, it was fantastic!
The ambience was spot on – lighting, music, soft furnishings, architecture etc. So beautifully preserved since its days as a C18th jesuit convent.
The service (Freddy was my waiter) was fantastic. Super attentive and knowledgeable about wine.
Highly recommend and worth every penny. Given the quality and experience I felt this place was good value for money!
We ordered the Volcan de Res (beef) appetizer, but had to return it because it was cold. Next, the grilled chicken salad arrived, and the chicken was cold as well. We hoped the soup would save the meal; we explicitly asked for the Tortilla soup to be served very hot. It arrived cold. We asked to switch to the Chicken soup instead, but the manager made a mistake and brought out the same soup again—still cold.
The atmosphere was difficult as the music was too loud, and the staff refused our request to lower the volume. In the end, they informed us we didn’t have to pay for the dinner. While we appreciated the gesture (we were willing to pay for what we ate), the apology felt unfriendly, as if we were the problem for wanting hot food.
Great flavors, but they need to fix their temperature control and service attitude.
Unfortunately, the service that first day was a bit disappointing. Still, the food impressed us so much that we decided to return the next evening.
The second visit was much less pleasant. The service was even worse than the first time. On our previous visit, we were allowed to smoke on the terrace, but this time we were told it was no longer permitted, which felt inconsistent. The staff overall seemed inattentive and not particularly welcoming. One server in particular (I believe his name was Kerwuin, or something similar) had a noticeably negative attitude.
They also brought the complimentary starter at the same time as the main dishes, which felt rushed and poorly timed. The paella wasn’t great, though we still enjoyed some of the other food.
As much as we loved the cuisine overall, the service during our second visit really changed our perception of the restaurant. Sadly, because of this experience, we wouldn’t return or recommend it.
The food is delicious. We were craving Indian food after a week of dining on rooftops. This was heaven!! We will be back.
Special thanks to Luis, our waiter, who provided outstanding service—friendly, attentive, and professional. The atmosphere and views also add a lot to the overall experience.
Highly recommended if you’re looking for good food, great cocktails, and quality service in Panama.
