A nice restaurant with good food. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is that the food took 30 mins to come out. I ordered 8 papusas. I can appreciate that it was so fresh and really tasty, but I didn’t expect the long wait.
Worth the wait though! I recommend. Ps. The curtido (sp?) Was a bit spicy! Very good food and good prices too!

Who doesn’t love some authentic Salvadorian food? You’ll definitely get it at El Salvador Cafe. The pupusas are freshly made, flavorful, and not greasy at all like some other restaurants. My favorite to get are revueltas (chicharrón, beans, & cheese mixed together) and Queso with Loroco (Salvadorian cheese & Loroco flower buds) They didn’t take too long to make and they were brought out nice and hot. I also got an agua de ensalada and Salvadorian horchata. The horchata could use more morro, but it wasn’t bad. Now the agua de ensalada was my favorite because it was so refreshing, sweet, and It comes with a lot of fruit compared to other Salvadorian restaurants. I also tried their platanos fritos (fried plantains) with queso (cheese), beans, crema (cream), and pan (bolillo type bread) and it was delicious. And couldn’t leave without trying their chicken tamales since I’m used to only Mexican tamales (I’m half Mexican from my mom’s side and half Salvadorian from my dad’s side) They taste different from the ones I used to have at my Salvadorian grandma’s house and I think it’s because these don’t have olives, which is ok with me ( I don’t like olives). They only have chicken, potatoes, & bell peppers wrapped in a banana leaf. They were unique and so flavorful. I’m for sure going back for these next time. Also don’t confuse this restaurant with the Salvadorian restaurant two doors down. I know….it’s strange and a bit confusing on why they would be so close to each other haha. But the other one doesn’t accept cards, only cash. El Salvador Cafe accepts cards and cash for payment and the staff is super friendly.

I found this place while driving . I went in for lunch . It’s on a very busy street. They have parking in the front . There’s also parking in the back . I was greeted in Spanish when I walked in. Which is always a good sign. It’s nice to feel welcomed. It’s a small restaurant . It was very clean and nicely decorated. The menu was in Spanish . I ordered cheese and bean pupusas. They took less than 15 min. They were so good I can’t wait to go back. My only complaint is I wish I had more cabbage. I look forward to dining in. It’s a nice change from the multitude of Mexican eateries .

Service is excellent. Home made taste on the food. Love that they give you the option of bread or tortillas for the breakfast plates. Tried the desayuno de huevos con jamón. Highly recommend.

Went here with my family for the first time yesterday, let’s just say I’ve never felt so uncomfortable and unwelcome at a restaurant ever! As soon as we walked in all eyes were on us as if we were from like another planet or something which made us so uncomfortable. The lady serving us (I think the owner) Was so rude to us, this was the first time my cousin went to try Salvadorian food and we had questions in regards to some of the things on the menu, the lady gave us attitude and kept rushing us! We talked about just walking out at this point. But noticed them serving the waters so we decided to just let it go and stay, BIG mistake. The lady served everyone else but us, and when she came out finally after 40mins, the order was wrong and she blamed us so ordering wrong! She gave us extra food that we didn’t order and she wanted us to keep it! I said no. That was your mistake not ours! We ate and the food wasn’t even that great it was dry. Honestly I have had better. Ended up paying almost 80dollars for 11 pupusas and 5 drinks. Horrible experience. Look elsewhere there are better places out there if you wanna try pupusas.

I may sound a little dramatic but daaammmmmm!!! When I tell you I’m not really a fan of Salvadoran food I’m really picky about how they make it. This was my very first time coming here and I ordered the Pan con pollo (bread with chicken) and oh boy I was speechless less the food hit differently somehow ! I even saw someone order it twice and boy was that man happy. I also ordered the Caldo de gallina and I’m just for Words I don’t get how people sleep on this place and it’s also affordable other restaurants I’ve been to charge hell money for something small or something that isn’t really that good. Best food so far
