I’ve been to both restaurants— this one and the one in Biloxi. Ordinarily, when a restaurant had completely inattentive staff, there is just no way I’d give them four stars. Likewise, the cleanliness is a little marginal as well. BUT THE FOOD IS RIDICULOUS. So I cannot go below a four star review. I just can’t. Because the 24-oz Margarita (be it mango or traditional) is just amazing. I had the Zacatecano Shrimp and they were stunning, while my partner had the carnitas burrito and he loved every bite. The food is first so good, it makes you forget about the fact that you had to wipe off your seat or your server was missing for huge chunks of time.

Food was mediocre at best. Nothing was piping hot (closer to barely warm). And there was hardly any lettuce in the taco salad. Service was terrible. We were rather amused that the cheese dip arrived before the chips! I think next time we will just go across the parking lot to Taco Bell.

I don’t understand why all Mexican restaurants can’t be El Saltillo, nationwide, and I can get a bit belligerent about that when I’ve got a craving for shredded chicken quesadillas, and that salsa when I’m out of state. It’s just the best and right way to do make them! You should see what they serve as a quesadilla in Colorado; totally disgraceful. Appreciate El Saltillo for its amazing food!

This time my reason for giving a low score. First, let me say Ocean Springs is normally the best El Saltillo. I called in my order over the phone. This time my order was off. I received no beans in the burrito, I received a beef enchilada instead of a cheese enchilada and asked for guacamole on the side receiving. No guacamole at all. Of course I will go back sometime. They have great salsa. The Chile Relleno was great as always..

Staple of ocean springs Mexican food. They’ve been here for over 20 years for a reason. Consistently good food that’s affordable, and served by folks who know what they’re doing. I’ve had literally every item on the menu, and every single one of them is good. I recommend the steak fajitas, California burrito, and Carne Asada for the meat eaters, and they have great salads for the non meat eaters. The chicken dishes are very flavorful as well. Believe it or not the burgers here are amazing, so if you’re here with a big party and don’t like Mexican food, get the burger! It’s really really good. If you’re a drinker, they have the typical margaritas, both frozen and in the rocks.
