El Saltillo was first opened in 1996, and it consisted of a small suite in the Parkside Square Shopping Center in Ocean Springs. Thanks to its success, the small restaurant quickly expanded its size to accommodate its growing clientele. After many years of hard work and very dedicated, loyal customers, we are proud to feature 6 locations, spanning from Long Beach to Pascagoula. El Saltillo Mexican Restaurant is a casual restaurant and bar, that specializes in Mexican cuisine. We use fresh ingredients to serve all our customers and we provide an atmosphere welcoming of families, large parties, and casual diners.

Server was so nice but salsa is sour no salt not spicy I ask them to re make it they said I just need to put salt in it I know Mr lalo is an amazing mng I do know his expectations r always perfect my happy plate came out n barely anything on it

VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED. It took at least 20 minutes to be seated and there was only about 3 other people that were in the restaurant eating. When we sat down it took about another 10 minutes just for us to get our drink order took. When we eventually got a food the steak burrito tasted absolutely disgusting. When we told the waiter about it she had a very bad attitude and refused to acknowledge us after that. When we got our check she charged us for a large cheese dip when we ordered a small. At that point we didn’t even care we were just ready to pay and leave. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE

We pulled up at 11 when they opened. We were seated immediately. They had a few people already there. The atmosphere and vibe was friendly and fun. The waitress didn’t give us her name and barely spoke to us but was nice.
But the food… Very disappointing. The salsa was watery and the tomato tasted over ripe. I got a steak burrito meal w rice. The rice was good while it was hot but soon as it started to cool off it was hard and tasted stale. Same with the burrito. I tried so hard to like it but that first bite was gamey and had a cardboard aftertaste. My husband’s California burrito was the same. I think they gave us some meat that was going bad and the beans tasted like they were freezer burnt or expired boxed beans. The tortilla was also hard in some spots and that tasted stale as well. Gross.
Also, they took the complimentary bean soup bar away. Boo.

I always enjoyed my burrito but I have not enjoyed the ride the last three times come I just take it home with me to fix it or just not eat it . Usually though my food is very good.. the rice has either been hard dry or mix between dry and wet and no flavor this is only in the last few months it’s been this way. So I recommend everything else but maybe the burrito it’s might be good one day and may not be good the next but overall their food is great service is great because my husband doesn’t like to tell people when there’s something wrong with our food so I just keep it to myself

Good not great. Chips were cold and unseasoned. Salsa was good, but they don’t give much of it unless you ask for more. Enchiladas were good but service was slow.

The food was good overall, but the service really missed the mark. We had to return two plates — the fajita nachos and a taco salad. The taco salad was originally brought out with chicken instead of the beef we ordered. When it was brought back corrected, it still had sour cream on it after we had specifically asked for no sour cream.
A few other items we ordered never came to the table at all, and we had to ask for them to be removed after they were included on the bill. Our requests were pretty simple, so it was frustrating to deal with multiple mistakes and long waits for corrections.
The food itself had good flavor, but the overall experience would have been much better with more attentive and accurate service.

Food is always delicious. Close by the house so we eat here at least once a week for lunch or dinner. Chips and salsa always taste fresh. Their fresh bean soup is great. Service can be spotty depending on who you get and time of day but overall good. Will continue to be a customer. My go to is the street tacos (chorizo and Al pastor), shrimp cocktail and fajitas. Their margaritas are also great with plenty of liquor.

The tap beer is so cold and crisp, that I would use the term refreshing, which I rarely ever use, from the first sip. The chips are fresh and the salsa is even fresher. The queso cheese is the cheesiest, of course in the good sense, and the staff are friendly, as well as portions being generous. Me Likes!!!

Took a coworker to lunch told him I never have had a bad plate of food at this restaurant so disappointed that today was the first day steak in my burrito was so tough and burnt. I could not chew through it. Left half of it and I showed it to the waitress and all her manager offered was a two dollar discount. I will be back but with all the one star reviews lately I guess I’ll wait till they hire a better cook.
