Since we are from Arizona, we are always on the hunt for great Mexican food and we found it here in Perry! El Sabor is exactly the type of Mexican food we look for. Simple, authentic, and delicious.
Bring cash because they don’t accept credit cards but their prices are on point. For us, we bought Carne Asada tacos for two dollars apiece and they were exceptional! Carne asada, onions, and cilantro is all you need. I found their green salsa slightly more mild than we are used to but their red salsa more tangy and flavorful than we expected.
Going back for their burrito today!

This is a mobile taco, burrito, social, Gordian, nachos and many other items to choose from. Their burrito weighs about 5 lbs, it has your choice of chicken, pork or steak, it has beans, Spanish rice, guacamole, sour cream, lettuce, tomatoes and you choice of mild or hot salsa on the side. The burrito is $10, but it’s so big, I can usually make 2 or 3 meals out of it. All their food and service is 100% top notch. If you want authentic Mexican food, this is definatly the place to go. They are located in a old bus they converted on 1st street in Perry iowa across the street from the progressive foundry and the old asgrow plant

Best Mexican food in Iowa. I travel state wide and have tried them all. Who would have thought the best would be a food truck in Perry Iowa? Simple and tasty, made while you wait. Cash only, but there is a Casey’s about a block down so ATMing isn’t a big deal. Speak slowly and clearly unless you Spanish is good. Closed on Sunday’s and Mondays, but open year around. Enjoy! I didn’t take any photos because I was too busy devouring my food! The burritos were approximately 6 pounds and filled with everything you could ever want. The meats were seasoned perfectly and the service was fantastic!

Ah-mazing! Haven’t been to it yet and will probably become a regular. They have authentic street tacos (smaller tacos with onion and cilantro). And it’s cheap! Love it!

Kind of disappointing from what friends have told me. I wanted a Lamb Gyros, but was ok to order a beef borrito…was asked four times if I wanted more meat(should’ve take that as a warning…to go somewhere else!). Repeatedly answered no…then after a short wait(good job with spread of delivery! )received my disappointing food…mostly rice…definitely needs improvement…I can buy a bag of “El Monterey” frozen ones and do better…$7, for THAT, REALLY! Oh, and lastly the salad was old and rotten!
