Me and my friends came here to eat an early dinner on Sunday place is very relaxed. It has a bar atmosphere with tables around the bar very comfortable. I was very surprised that there was only one other man eating there are because the food was pretty good. I expect more people to be out on a Sunday. We had the these chicken and shrimp chaufa which was delicious but the tamales were suppose to be chicken but had no chicken in them and they were not the best ones I ever ate before . We also had the purple Peruvian drink made from corn . Me and my friend shared the drink and we added water to it because it’s a very dense taste but very good not too sweet. The waitress was very friendly and good. She was very attentive. I would definitely try this place out again. I would like to try the Roasted Peruvian chicken.

I’ve driven from Pennsylvania to eat at this restaurant several times because the food is AMAZING! The 1hour & 20 min drive is so worth it. The food is Very flavorful & they serve huge portions. The service is also great. Me & my family have tried several dishes. No matter what we order, we are never disappointed. Highly recommend this hidden gem.

Excellent restaurant with a unique old world feel to it. The ceviche was flavorful and the portions were large. The whole fish was huge and cooked very well. The lomo chaufa was out of this world good. It came out sizzling hot on a cast iron pan. Very unique touch to their plates. The service was attentive. They have a large bar to drink and many TV’s throughout the restaurant. I would highly recommend this restaurant over other chain Peruvian restaurants in the area. I will be coming back again.

The service was great. Best peruvian chicharron and relleno out in kearny. Highly recommend it for the culinary, as well one of the classics sandwiches and varieties in the plates. The butifarra sandwich is a must one of the greatest ones out there in kearny. Haven’t seen any other place that sells the butifarra near this area.

That said I have a little issue with the bill
For example when you eat in there is an 18 percent tip added to the bill I am fine with that
But when you charge me an 18 percent tip on my bill when I go for a take out that is plain and simple an abuse
I understand that when you go and sit and eat your food there is a tip included but why do I have to pay a tip added to the bill when I call and order food To go doesn’t make any sense
If you are the owner of this establishment please reply and explain it to us.

This is a cozy restaurant, very no-frills. We came to Kearny for the Peruvian Independence Day Parade and wondered into El Sabor de su casa. The food took a little to come out, but we weren’t in a rush and happy to wait for freshly made food! It was wonderful. I had Pan con Chicharron and Papaya Juice for breakfast – the best one I’ve had since moving away from Peru as a child.
The service was great, we had someone coming to check on us and give us updates about the food delay, lively music and overall friendly staff. Will be coming back next week to try other dishes! And will bring the entire family ☺️

Horrible service. I ordered leche de Tigre & Jalea. The leche de Tigre did not come until 25 minutes after the Jalea. They never look to see if you need anything. They bring you the plates and give them to you in your hands
