I was there today 02/24/2026 around 4pm and the waiter with bleached tips and a name that started with a T on their waiter wrap thing took our order… it was very slow today and they were quite nice kept checking on us and was patient they also helped me find the thing I ate ij the past that I couldnt figure out it was something like the fajita quisidilla and it was really good I got mine with steak… my son really liked the rice XD and we all left happy and full … im worried though because we were confused about hoe to leave a tip and didnt ahve cash we had a very long day and I feel bad because we left not knowing and I thought it was handled but im not the one who handled the bill ;-; I hope they know they were very appreciated and we tried to clean up our mess the best we could since we had a very messy toddler who is inexperienced with rice

I was happy to see a restaurant in Granite City that was open on Monday and not a chain. It also gave me a place to cool off and charge my phone after a great deal of walking and exploring the town.
The waiter was very kind and helped me find an outlet to charge my phone.
The food was okay. The chips were a bit stale, and the enchilada sauce had a strange, out-of-place herb in it–basil? The shrimp quesadilla was quite tasty, and the guac was good.
The restroom walls could use a real wipe down.
Again, the server was excellent, and the price was great. I might go back and try different food items.

Been to alot of Mexico restaurant’s and this one is right up there towards the top.

Disappointed by the quality, taste, and proportions of the food. Carnitas tasted off and tortillas were paper thin. Everything was just tossed together, not cooked together. Server did not say that the tip was included, so I double tipped. Two sodas, two regular menu items for nearly $50…outrageous.

The food was absolutely delicious. I ordered the molcajete which was amazing. The price was great for the quantity of food you get. The staff was friendly. I would recommend visiting. The interior of the restaurant is very beautiful decorated.

I’ve ordered from El rodeo a dozen or more times. I never have complained, It is always been excellent. I called up tonight because I received this pictured for $20. When I called, I was merely trying to let them know that I was disappointed in the portion size. I didn’t want a refund or anything like that. However, the gentleman said “bring back the food and I’ll give you your $20.” After I already explained, my child had eaten it, and it barely filled her. The was very rude and then hung up on me. I’ll never be ordering from there again.

Maybe we came on a bad day, but the service was poor and the food had no flavor. We had to request chips after a while, with servers standing around. It was not busy. My fajitas came out sizzling as expected, but we’re flavorless and by the time I got my tortillas, my food was barely warm. I was with a group of Latinos and they were disappointed as well. This is probably the worst Mexican food I’ve had to date.
