El Rodeo has been a bit up and down over the years, but it’s definitely found a sweet spot now. We had a really good meal there including an incredible molcajete and delicious steak fajitas. Chicken enchiladas with red sauce were also strong. The Cadillac margaritas are also tasty, but they are huge! You may want to split one.
We don’t usually mention staff by name, but we have to give a special shout out to Rose, our server. She immediately established a rapport with us and was so friendly and helpful! Her level of service was truly excellent. If you go to El Rodeo and she is your server, count yourself lucky!

The food here is delicious. The chips and salsa are excellent, as expected. The menu is large, which can be a bad sign, but not in this case. The food had a lot of well-developed flavor. The molcajete was the show stopper. The sauce was so savory, tangy, and rich with perfectly cooked steak, chicken, and shrimp. I would order this every time I came here. The enchiladas were very good. All three sauces shined in their own way and I would have a hard time picking a favorite since they were all unique. We will definitely be back!

I decided to try a new Mexican Restaurant today EL Rodeo in Green Valley off Esperanza. I took my family of seven to this place. Upon entering a Mexican lady with Brite lipstick was not inviting mean angry face followed by a confused white waitress they both began to bicker and fuss about where they were going to sit us. After about 5 mins of confusion between both of them. I walked out with my family. The restaurant was not busy and they asked if I had a reservation lol! I can only imagine how the food would taste if they had trouble greeting and sitting people down! Beware!

We are new to the area and wanted to check out this restaurant to see if we could eat there or not as we are vegan which presents many limitations within a Mexican menu…but it is doable. The restaurant itself is beautiful. It looks like many people received ample servings of food and hoped we would enjoy a vegan burrito that our server suggested as the best option. We waited 45 minutes before asking another server about our order while our server sat and chatted with another couple of patrons across from us. Next thing I know, our server passes by our table, seemingly upset, stating “for $5”. I assume the message was directed at us and at that point we left. Nearly 55 minutes and no food, but clearly a server who wasn’t serving. We will not return.

Walked in the foyer area, no signs stating wait to be seared or seat yourself. Staff walking by. About five minutes later a staff member said seat yourself. Waited at the table, again staff walking by, It wasn’t busy, half the tables were empty. No one acknowledged us, saying we’ll be right with you. Five minutes go by, then ten minutes, nothing. We got up and left. Their loss.
