Based on the company’s response, I want to clarify that I did speak with the manager on duty. The manager was the one who dismissed my concern when I questioned being charged twenty six dollars for three tacos only. I would suggest this establishment ensure their managers and cashiers are on the same page regarding pricing, because when questioned, neither the cashier OR manager was able to explain how the total cost did not match the menu prices listed. I want customers reading this to understand that speaking to the manager did not resolve the issue in this case.

ORIGINAL:
The food here is honestly really good, which is why this is frustrating to write. Flavor wise, I love it and that is the only reason I kept coming back.

Unfortunately, there is a consistent issue with pricing. The total at the window often does not match the menu, sometimes by a lot. When I have politely asked why, I am either ignored, brushed off, or given no explanation at all. Refunds, when offered, have not been for the full overcharge.

I have been told prices that make no sense compared to what is posted, like being charged twenty six dollars for three tacos with no sides or drinks. It puts you in an uncomfortable position as a customer.

As much as I enjoy the food, the lack of transparency makes it not worth the stress. This review is for this location only, but I would be cautious.

Hands down one of the worst experiences I’ve had. This is a solid b-tier at best joint. Memos or burrito California has this place beat. The service was slow, had almost too many cooks in the back… Decent looking staff… Half of them in back didn’t grow up eating this food so that’s likely why it was so bland. It arrived cold…. Not sure how as it needed to be cut off the pike in back. Ordered nachos with the pike meat that rotates. Double meat. Two orders and another side order for our buddy. Others got served before us. Bro tips good, even before the actual service(he likes this place so he over tips… Not sure why…). Food looked like it did in the pictures just… Not hot… Stale… Cold… The drinks were good… Self serve. Funny I’ve heard so many good stories about this place just to receive food and service like this. Probably would have tasted decent warm or hot… Did look like the pictures. Well put together… I used their salsa bar which earned this joint a star. Choices and good ones for the salsa bar thing. Needed it for the food so… The missing star after 1500 reviews starts to make sense… Seems to be hit or miss…

I should know better by now… My 4th visit and my food takes longer
than every.other.guest. I think they treat me differently because I am not spanish. I am bilingual and here the staff say rude things about me and to let me wait. Today the women staff ignored me when I looked for my order, and never explained or apologized why it took 30 mins for my 6 tacos but the 5 cars in from if me were served under 10 mins. Horrible customer service and will not be back for
more racism and ignorance.

ATTENTION RESTURANT MANAGER-

YOU MUST SPEAK TO YOUR STAFF and THEY MUST RE-TAKE THE HYGIENE FOOD SAFETY. The last time i went to eat here i ordered menudo and the waitress brought me the menudo with the spoon inside my dish inside the menudo.( IF IT HAPPENS AGAIN I WILL REPORT THIS RESTAURANT TO THE LOCAL COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT). Its extremely rude, unsanitary, and unprofessional for a restaurant worker to dip a spoon into a customer’s soup.

Here is why:

Hygiene and Food Safety: Even a “clean” spoon has been handled by you and exposed to the air. Dipping it into the customer’s food introduces potential contaminants like bacteria from your hands or the environment . This is a major violation of basic food safety standards.

Lack of Professionalism: This action shows a significant disregard for professional boundaries and the customer’s dining experience. Customers expect their food to be untouched by staff after it leaves the kitchen, other than being served to their table .

Perception of Respect: It is disrespectful to handle a customer’s food in an unhygienic or casual manner. The action implies a lack of care for their meal and well-being .

In the food service industry, maintaining impeccable hygiene and respecting the integrity of the food you serve is paramount. Always handle food and cutlery according to established health codes and professional standards.
The proper way to handle a customer’s soup and spoon involves prioritizing hygiene and professional service standards.

For the Server
Hygiene First: Always wash your hands thoroughly with soap and warm water for at least 20 seconds before handling clean dishes or utensils.
Touch Only the Handle: When placing a spoon for a customer, touch only the handle of the utensil. Never touch the part that will go into the food or the customer’s mouth.
Serve from the Right: In standard American service, pre-plated courses and beverages are typically served from the guest’s right side.
Use a Tray/Underplate: Carry the soup bowl on a service plate (underplate) or a large tray to the table to prevent spills and to have a place for the spoon to rest. Cover the spoon with a napkin the part where it goes in the mouth.
Do Not Dip: Never, under any circumstances, dip a spoon into the customer’s soup. The food should remain untouched by staff after it is plated.

Sincerely Upset Customer, Veronica Veronica.

Only have gone thru drive thru. Have eaten at many El Rinconsito locations and the food here is consistently less appetizing than the other locations. We love quesabirria tacos and both times we tried to order them the tacos were dry grilled and served in a foil tin. They were not crispy at all like were used to and were soaking wet so that when we tried to pick them up to eat they just fell apart. The consomme was literally 80% grease from the top of the pot and 20% consomme that we couldn’t even get to because of the amount of grease 🙁
