My grandmother and I stopped here for lunch many months back…

If you’re not 100% sure what you’re getting (like my grandmother, no offense), I recommend getting the quesedilla with any meat/protein. I’ve ordered myself 3 Al Pastor Tacos, and they were “chef’s kiss”. Not knocking or hating on Totopo (they use to sell 3 tacos instead of two for Pastor) and Emilianos but, I recommend this restaurant, especially on Brownsville Road, where I grew up.

The music was a little loud for my liking but other than that the restaurant was a vibe. Immediately greeted and seated. The glasses they use for drinks are really cool. Chips were perfectly done and the queso was good. For the price though a side of salsa would have been nice too. Got a carnitas quesadilla. And very happy they have shredded carnitas not the fatty hunky stuff like other restaurants. The chicken burrito was good as well. Meat was seasoned very well. Definitely a hole in the wall you wouldn’t pay much attention to driving past but is a must to go if you stumble across it. Decently priced for the 2 of us. Also they do take out there so will be doing that since we live close by. The server was very friendly . Food came out hot and fast.

Fantastic southern mexico cuisine. Not your typical mexican, but a more refined and geographical localized gastro offering. Take advantage of this place. It might be a bit remote to get to, but worth it. I recommend dinner times if you want to see a crowd of locals. Food is all made from scratch, with genuine ingredients. Enchilada mole and tlayuda oaxaquena are the distinction that makes this place special. The desserts are also top notch, tres leches rum cake and flan. It’s also great that they allow BYOB, they were so nice and served us the wine we had in wine glassed that they provided.

The enchiladas were delicious! I appreciate the waiter’s suggestion to try both the salsa verde and mole (half and half) when I asked his opinion on which was better. They were both great! I would definitely eat here again.

El Rincon Oaxaqueno “hidden place like a haven or retreat” I believe this is the translation. Authentic Mexican food in Pittsburgh with tasty hot and spicy sauces is RARE! I sampled each of the sauces the green was more mild, the mole was rich, a medium red, and blazing hot red that had a kick which I could feel on my lips for 5 min. Food is very similar to the places I have been in Mexico. I had their burrito with shredded chicken which satisfied my palate! The atmosphere is simple with fresh bright colors customary to the southern border. I also found it interesting that they have a BYOB sign on the door as you enter! They cater wedding and private parties. They also have 2 food trucks, which can be scheduled in advance for your events! You no longer need to wait for a Mexican vacation as you can find them in the Pittsburgh area!

Food was bland and burnt. Dont waste your time coming here. I guess the food truck is any better? The queso was watered down, this is a front for something else. Close these doors ASAP

Food is phenomenal. I order from here every single time I want Mexican and nowhere else. Haven’t had authentic Mexican food like this since I moved from California 5 years ago. Nothing else in pgh compares.

One word: DELICIOUS. The food was amazing. I ordered the shrimp enchiladas that come with rice and black beans. The waiter was super nice and gave us a free watermelon agua fresca which was again DELICIOUS. The restaurant itself was suuuper cute and gave an authentic feel. Would definitely recommend this place!

Really good food. Everything came out fresh and as expected. My only complaint is lack of AC in dinning room but they do have ceiling fans. I will definitely be eating here again just on hot days togo will be my option.
