The cleanest Mexican restaurant that I have seen. You couldn’t pay me to eat at some ( but I am not ashamed, lol but I have had a few hiccups. I decided to enjoy several visits as I already knew this was a spot to be.
The burrito is good.
Let’s say it. Most Mexican places taste the same depending on if the spices are more just salt pepper or authentic.
I could probably cook this at home, but for the price, service and good taste.

Very friendly and well made food. Only thing needs more spice. Salsa was good but no bite at all. Fresh fried chips where Very good. I had the Birria tacos, good. Nice place and should do well but need to reunite up a notch for us SW Louisiana poeple.

We were in town hitting the slots and stopped here to get some food, and it was so good! The cheese dip was wonderful, and I got the steak quesadillas, which were good, though I might try something else next time. My husband got the enchiladas and loved them. They also have great lunch specials. It was pretty empty when we went for some reason, which made it easy to enjoy our meal. We had a great experience and can’t wait to come back next time we’re in town!

Very good hot fresh food. Get the queso it’s good too. Chips were made fresh and beans and rice has a good taste that wasn’t like pre made sides. Waitress was nice and attentive. This place is better than most places around Lake Charles. You should try it Also 9.99 for a combination meal plus a drink included is a good deal.

A brand new mexican restaurant that stands above 99 percent of the mexican restaurants in Lake Charles, LA. First off…they make their own corn tortilla chips and corn tortillas. They make their salsa fresh daily. Not the cheap salsa either, they go all out to make quality salsa! Yummy! The big news on this place is their all day everyday 9.99 menu which includes free soft drinks, tea with refills!! Gasp!! I mean that in itself begs the family to come and try out Del Rey restaurant!! Did I say they make their fajitas from high quality ribeye not that cheap round steak chewy meat that 99 percent of Lake Charles mexican restaurants serve. Their refried beans are real pinto beans smashed to make the best tasting refried beans hands down. The everyday menu has 15 choices with a free drink included. Their tacos…so flavorful and with fresh tomato, graded cheese, and lettuce. This place knows how to cook authentic…the real deal here. Run don’t walk to these icredible prices. They give you plenty of food even on the everyday 9.99 menu!

I was looking for a new mexican restaurant to try and found this one that has only been open a couple of weeks. The dining area was nice and gave me a vacation vibe ☀️.
Service was top notch and the food was excellent! The salsa and chips were delicious. Can’t wait to try some of their other dishes!

Never Cheddar Tear
After dining here, I was surprised by how empty the parking lot was. It must be hard to stand out in this town’s overcrowded Tex-Mex market. The chips and salsa, both made fresh, were probably the best in town. The menu offers several good options and isn’t as repetitive as most other Tex-Mex spots around.
I did think the price-to-portion ratio for the small queso was too high, but that seems to be the norm everywhere. I had the carne asada on the waitress’s recommendation. It was fine, but under-seasoned, and I felt it had the potential to be much better. Their “secret hot sauce” is a salsa macha – this is the only place in town where I’ve seen it served.
The filled churros were a great way to end the meal, and the service was both fantastic and personal. I’m already looking forward to my next visit.
