Opening a tacos spot in lake worth is risky business. We are flooded with great authentic spots and everyone one has their own star on the menu. In this case – most of the menu is the star. Food is always consistent and quick a great menu options for the tacos. The salsas are also fantastic. I highly recommend the pastor, Charizo, skirt steak tacos. Those are my personal favorite. Service is always very pleasant and quick. Very happy to have them in our neighborhood.

Finally!!! Found an amazing and Authentic Mexican restaurant owned by an awesome hardworking young couple. I ordered a few items and everything tasted fresh, authentic, and absolutely delicious. Genuine and hospitable service as well. I will definitely be back. If you live in the area you should definitely give El Rey a try. Thank you

We’re now violently ill from the food… Tacos were horrible! Nachos tasted like they’re from the cheap movie theaters. Torta tasted fishy and bread was stale. Only thing decent was the horchata.

Had some tacos from here for the first time last night. The husband and wife that run the location are awesome and the food was even better! Will definitely be back and glad they are here!

Was looking forward to a new taco place opening up in the neighbourhood, especially considering the glowing reviews. Maybe the cook was different previously, which would explain the vast difference in experience. I had a chicken quesadilla, two lengua tostadas, and one carne asada taco. The tortillas were hard and difficult to chew. Meat was overcooked and barely seasoned. Quesadilla was tiny for the price. So unfortunate!

We spent 36.00
The tacos were average. The price of the tacos competes with the average price at a chain restaurant. We got the taco platter/plate. There were no substitutions on the 5 tacos you could get so I had to add the more expensive options like shrimp and barbacoa on as extras.
The quesadillas was a tiny sliver of a thing for 8 dollars.
Juice was great, and the refried beans had salt which was decent. At the end of the day the price, did not match the flavor, nor did the flavor entice us to return.
A little sad (been looking for a new taco place)

El Rey Del Taco Express is the best Mexican food in the area (Lupitas is a close second)! This recently opened restaurant has far exceeded my expectations and, in my opinion, is far superior to the previous Mexican restaurant at this location.
From the moment you walk in, you can tell this place is different. The modern, bright, and impeccably clean interior creates an inviting atmosphere. But the real magic is in the food – flavorful, perfectly textured, and incredibly fresh. Unlike other Mexican restaurants in the area that tend to offer similar menus and flavors, El Rey Del Taco Express stands out with a thoughtfully curated menu that truly sets it apart.
The service is also exceptional – attentive, friendly, and dedicated to ensuring a great dining experience. It’s clear the team here values customer satisfaction, which is refreshing.
What really makes this place special is that it elevates and refines what’s already available in the local Mexican food scene. If you enjoy Rosalita’s in Lantana, you’re going to love El Rey Del Taco Express. This place is a hidden gem that deserves to be discovered. I cannot say enough about how extraordinary my experience was, and I’m already looking forward to coming back many times over!
