I wish I read the reviews first before ordering. Stranded from a missed connection flight, it was late and I had a food voucher to use. Decided to see what was opened and tacos sounded easy. I was quickly disappointed. This is some of the worst Birria I’ve ever had. Birria shouldn’t be hard to mess up but apparently this place knows how to ruin it. It was so fatty and lacked flavor. I was able to eat one taco because I was starving but the thought of the last one made me sick. Thank goodness I didn’t use my own money to pay for this!

Absolutely INSANE currently 5 months pregnant and have been craving birria for almost a month now ,finally decided to order some for delivery and this is what I arrived to my home ,food is COMPLETELY inedible ,tacos won’t even stay together I’m highly disappointed and unsatisfied I literally just cried like this is BULLSHIT. Spoke with doordash and since order was “delivered” I can’t receive a refund so now I have to go all the way in person tomorrow just for my cash refund :/
Update still haven’t received my refund neither

It’s the most expensive Mexican food I’ve ever had, $54. The food was typical; however, the prices were misleading on Google and their website.
We paid $14 for 4 tacos, $16 for a burrito, $6 for rice and beans, and $17 for soup; the total was $54. The menus were just pictures, and prices weren’t listed anywhere. There’s a picture of Sopas for $3.00 covered up.
It felt like I got scammed out of my money for average Mexican food I could’ve gotten at another restaurant. It would’ve been 4 stars had the prices not been outrageous and I not felt tricked and lied to.

The food is average and the price is a little high. I tried the tacos, burrito, and sopes. All good but not great. I’ve had better authentic Mexican street food. The employees are nice and service was good. The food was served very quickly and fresh!

It’s just ok. it’s open late that’s the best part. Better quality than taco bell for the time of night being 5 am on a Sunday morning.

01/01/24- I’m Mexican. I’m sharing these tips to help other’s know what watch out for. This place doesn’t have menu prices.
2nd disclaimer, the burrito pictures is not from El Rey Del Taco.
This is because you’ll be charged based on your outfit. If you’re well put together you’ll pay more for the same meal you can buy down the street.
If you don’t believe me read the other comments from those who paid over $50 at this hole in the wall.
Our favorite burrito place moved so we stopped here because it’s off the 65 and on our way from the airport.
We walked in and we caught on they thought we had money. The waitress ignored me when I asked for the price of a burrito.
She ignored me when I said I didn’t want to buy a bottled water that cost them .25 at Costco. My wife likes to drink Orchata (cinnamon rice drink).
While I was asking questions (stalling) my wife read the reviews and said to get out. We blew out like a storm.
We went down the street to a place we know and paid $12.99 for the burrito shown. Turn left on 38th and right at the North Plaza. You’ll see it.
Espero le pongan precios al menu. No vuelvo a venir porque esto no es buen negocio. Gente sinverguenza.

The food here is the bomb, we got more stuff but were too hungry to snap it. Whoever said this place has no flavor or bland has no taste buds.

This place was fantastic! Very authentic, fantastic Mexican food! I had two tacos de lengua and two tacos al pastor. The pastor was especially amazing! They even had the trompo! The place looks sketchy but it really was the best Mexican food I’ve had in Indy. Go give it a shot!

Looking back at the kitchen, you can see they keep everything very clean. The food is authentically good and the drinks are fresh and delicious. Service is good but the atmosphere could use some updating. Outside of the restaurant is also not the cleanest but this is definitely a really dependable spot.
