My lovely fiance doesn’t like mayo (or eggs; I know, it’s rough but she’s great, trust me) so I typewritered the elote, enseguida. The plantains weren’t as gooey as I’d normally like, but they’re always a sweet staple for me, offsetting the salt-forward intro to most Mexican meals with the complementary chips and customary margs. The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated with a fun, vibrant energy; some might say loud, I say festive. It was the perfect midweek pick-me-up after a long, busy day. Excellent, kind and timely service, as well.
I had the fish tacos, and they were phenomenal!! My wife had the fajita nachos, and she said they were great!!
We went on Nov. 1, so they were celebrating the day of the dead….
Excellent resteraunt, highly recommend!!
The decorations inside are cool.
$65 bill I left hungry $20 deflated Fajita no napkins,
bare tables no salt pepper or any condiments
My food was served on broken plates. Took pictures in case of hospital visit. Told waitress no one cared. Manager very sick cough blowing nose.
This place was the cats meow and in my opinion the rearranging of tables puts you on display with no privacy.
It’s ok to increase prices because of bad management but don’t take the food off the plate. It was a joke what I got for $20. Really!
Here is my opinion on the broken plate.
6 customers in restaurant and I counted 9 employees that I can see or wasted my time counting. Most of which were walking around like drones. Very nice people with nothing to do.
The guacamole was always good mix it right at your table. But I’d give it a zero this time. Out of the 120 or more times I’ve been there I never left the bowl empty, I couldn’t even finish it , combination of quality Avacado and mixing made it bad.
My heart is heavy because these recipes were from a family, and now that is gone.
If you read this far my advice is visit your favorite food because IT WILL BE GONE maybe not next week but it will not last forever.
Thank you azteca for many years of great food
But serving food on a broken and chipped plates and loading salsa with salt to make it last longer, and taking away condiments and napkins shows me you lost respect for the paying customer.
UPDATE 2026 January
I went to the restaurant because I’ve been going there for 26 years and I explained to them I go there every November 6 because my wife and I celebrate our wedding anniversary. I’m not really sure if they get what a wedding anniversary is and what it means to people. However, they did see the review. They assured me they removed all the broken plates, but I feel much better as they explained to me the husband and wife that owns the store. Can’t be there all the time. So therefore, they have to trust the people who were taking care of the place while they’re not around. I am absolutely sure if they were there this wouldn’t have happened and they would’ve saved my special day. Even after all these years, they’re still looking to make the place better than yesterday new tables chairs, and while I admire all the changes, it is really difficult to do these tasks and forget about the most important things like the quality of the food and service. After my visit, I’m sure they’re gonna keep a close eye on it. It’s a very good family owned business and we need this in our area , authenticity .
I do recommend that you try this place as for me I sat down and I spoke with them even though that was very hard for me to do and they gave me coupons and a free sandwich and didn’t even make up for the food that I paid for and was messed up on my anniversary with my wife they let me down on my very special day. When I brought the food home and told my wife what happened we made a session never to go back.
In my opinion as a customer I think food and service will bring people back instead of a fancy atmosphere. It’s ok to charge more for your menu raise the price but don’t decrease the size
A++++++++
The meal was pretty good for a 3-piece combo—the portions were satisfying and everything tasted very fresh. The ordering process was smooth, and the food was ready right on time for pickup. It’s a great local spot in Wilkes-Barre when you want a solid, flavorful Mexican meal to go. I’ll definitely be ordering again!
Down to the drinks Champagne margarita was Soo tasty just the perfect amount of ice and everything.
