Very good! Great service! Super delicious food! Definitely get the Annie dip. The Zach attack is really spectacular! I could not finish the whole thing so I made it into two meals!

Scenes from the (1967) movie “In Cold Blood” was filmed INSIDE this restaurant. The movie was based on the TRUE murder case of the Clutter family at their home at 609 W. Oak Avenue on November 15th (1959). The TWO killers were caught and ultimately hanged. The crime caused a great controversy throughout the town and residents DIDN’T TAKE KINDLY to the film being made ON LOCATION. The movie itself was GREAT and is available on DVD, and starred Robert Blake as one of the two killers. The four Clutter family victims are buried side-by-side in Valley View cemetery over in Garden City.

I love El Rancho!! I would describe the food as Americanized Mexican fare, and if you expect that standard, it is fabulous! I highly recommend the Annie Dip, the salsa, the gordita, the concha, the combination plate, and the enchiladas. My son loves the hard shell tacos. My daughter loves the cheeseburger and mozzarella bites. The service is bar none as Deb and Nancy and the rest of the family take care of you there. I love the small-town vibe and the fact that when you walk in, you will talk to at least 1 or 2 other patrons from town. The restaurant is very supportive of school athletes and the teams. They even host a radio show for the teams in fall and winter seasons. I am thankful for the family and the restaurant. My family loves it when I say, “What’s your order from El Rancho tonight?”

The food was mediocre to me. I enjoy salsa with my food, which they don’t offer. They did have very good guac. The service was friendly for the most part.

This is first place I ever tasted “Mexican” food. My parents loved it. The servers even knew my dad’s special which was the combination plate with homemade French Fries in lieu of rice & beans. Food was better than I remember it. A trip down memory lane… Only problem was women’s bathroom needed attention.

My wife and I stopped by to get to know Holcomb a bit. We did not expect to have as wonderful an afternoon as we did. Everyone at the restaurant was kind and very welcoming. We must give special thanks to Debbie, who was kind enough to share a bit of her story within this community. After a great recommendation, we feasted on some wonderfully tasty food. The whole experience was great!! Definitely stop by if you want a hearty taste of a small community embrace.

The staff was friendly and professional. The atmosphere is very friendly and relaxing. This is a small family owned restaurant that makes you feel like you are home visiting your family. I was happy I stopped in. I stopped by before the rush and was given a personal tour of the pictures and decorations. A great find in Southwest Kansas.

The food has always been awesome!!!Nice atmosphere. The only downfall about the restaurant is the bathroom. They always stink. In the toilet won’t flush correctly. At least in the men’s restroom. They would have a five star if the bathrooms worked and smell good.
