Wow! You want authentic Mexican food, you got it! From the rustic exterior to the inviting interior, you feel like you are in for a treat. This restaurant is filled with friendly staff and amazing food. Don’t forget to save room for dessert. Their churros with ice cream are a local favorite…so good!

Simply the best Mexican food in Payson. This was our 3rd visit to this restaurant, never disappoints. The best location at the junction of the highway which goes to show low. Wide variety of menu options, kids also has lot of options to choose from. Beans n Rice is always treat along with any dish you order. I highly recommend it.

They greeted and sat us immediately and brought us water and Hot and Fresh Chips and salsa! Two bowls for three people which is nice! The chips and salsa were above average! The portions are huge! I hade 3 meals out of mine and my partner had 2-3 meals! So great price for the amount you get!!! The margarita my MIL was ginormous and loved it!! The place was clean, smelled nice, looked fresh and airy. Everyone was super nice and checked on us the exact amount of times! A+++!! Definitely will go back many times!!!

This is literally one of the best restaurants I have ever been to in my entire life, and that’s saying a lot. Amazingly fast service. We had chips and salsa in less than 20-30 seconds from being seated. Mexican food is exceptional and authentic with correct sauces not just chili powder and cumin like some other places. Waiters and servers are extremely fast and kind as well. Burgers are AMAZING. Beer battered old school bar food onion rings that fill the entire plate. Exceptionally amazing restaurant. Wish it was in Phoenix.

We live in Mesa, so we don’t get up to Payson super often, but when we do wow, do we love to stop for a yummy, delicious meal at El Rancho! The taste is top notch. The service is friendly, and the atmosphere is bar-ish, with a bit of a small town feel. The menu looked different from the last time I was there, and I knew what that meant–their prices have gone up drastically. Stupid COVID. Anyway, I didn’t appreciate that, so I took a star off. Mexican food should not be expensive.

Excellent food, great prices. Spent more at McDonald’s lunch than taco special plus 1 draft beer and 1 margarita! Sat on the patio because we brought our dog, not the best atmosphere but that was our choice.

My family came up from the valley and we came there to eat for my birthday. I ordered fish tacos and they were so spicy I couldn’t eat them. Needless to say, I’m the only one who didn’t get to eat. They offered to make me something else but everyone else was already done eating and ready to go so the experience was ruined. We eat here relatively often and I’ve never had this problem. Even the rice was overly spicy.
