Outstanding Community Support from El Ranchero and Owner Juan
We would like to extend our heartfelt appreciation to El Ranchero and its owner, Juan, for their extraordinary generosity and support of the Post Falls JV Trojans football team. Juan graciously donated a full meal to feed all 60 of our student-athletes, an act of kindness that truly exemplifies what it means to be a community partner.
The quality of the food was exceptional, and the care and effort put into preparing such a large donation did not go unnoticed. More importantly, this gesture had a meaningful impact on our team—boosting morale, fostering camaraderie, and reminding our players that their community stands behind them.
Juan’s commitment to giving back is a shining example of leadership and compassion. We are incredibly grateful for his support and proud to have a local business like El Ranchero that invests in the well-being of our youth. Thank you, Juan, for your generosity and for making a difference in the lives of our players.
Thank you El Ranchero and Juan for everything!!

We love El Ranchero! The food comes out piping hot and the flavor is out of this world. I recently moved here from California and was disappointed at how hard it was to find good Mexican food. I am so happy we found this place. I have tried a lot of things off the menu and all of them are . The chips and salsa are the best and they also have tasty margaritas. The service is always quick and friendly. 5 stars all around!

Heard of this place through my parents, it very quickly became one of my husband and I’s favorite date night restaurants. We are always quick to be seated and served, the food wait is never long and it always arrives delicious! Food, service and atmosphere are great! I frequently refer this place to friends because we like it so much… one of my friends now only gets Mexican food from here. 10/10 highly recommend 🙂 Thank you to all El Ranchero staff for making every experience we’ve had here a good one! We will continue to come back often.

Unlike JAMES WOOD making his nasty review. EL RANCHERO is a staple of Post Falls!!
Juan represents leadership, hard work and determination in his restaurant. He is hard working, not stop determination on his dreams that he is fulfilling and strifes an environment that has amazing food, great setting and fantastic customer service.
His staff present a caliber of service and hospitality in which a lot of restaurants do not value or exemplify this notion.
The food is delicious, full of flavor as well, it represents to the palate the Mexican culture. You can go to Mexico or you can make a stop here. Fantastic cocktails and beer. You’ll sink to your chair with the Carne Asada Platter and Mexican beer!
If you haven’t been here this is the place to go. The Best Mexican food in all of Coeur d Alene, Rathdrum, Hayden and Post Falls.
To El Ranchero family for making the experience unforgettable over the years of coming in as a patron, Thank you!!

The tortilla chips were fantastic. I loved the spicy salsa that came with them.
Everyone working there was very helpful, we got our food quickly and the beans were great, the rice was fluffy and satisfying, all in all, a pretty good experience.
I was honestly surprised there weren’t more people there, it was very satisfying!

We were so hungry for a good authentic Mexican meal. We picked here because it had a 4.5 star rating. It was the hands down worst Mexican food we ever had in 5 states. Disgusting tasted like cheap ingredients like dirt. We were so disappointed. Sorry La Ranchera. Never again going here.

This place has the best tortilla chips ever, the salsa was great as well. I had the flautas and they had amazing flavor and all meat just the way I like it, no fillers like potatoes and carrots. Refried beans and rice were so good. The service was great very friendly and attentive. I gave a 4 star only because I was taken back by the green sauce served with my flautas was cold it just didn’t go with my meal. However I explained that to the server and she brought me a side of warm sauce and it was perfect, I don’t know why the first was cold. Other than that we will be going back and I will just ask for warm sauce next time.

Best Chile Rellenos in town
Love the chips and salsa, too. I believe they use the real deal Mexican oregano in the salsa and have thinner chips. Delicious

I enjoy El Ranchero. I like to order the El Ranchero burrito with chicken or the two chicken tacos with rice and beans. I asked for no onion but got onions in my burrito. The food always comes really hot and tastes really good except the refried beans. They need to add some kind of seasoning to the refried beans. The rice is very tasty and has good texture. It was busy in the restaurant tonight but it didn’t take long to get our food. We also ordered huevos rancheros but she brought that out 10-12 minutes after she brought out our other orders. Also, the huevos rancheros came with lots of onions, bell peppers, and tomatoes on top instead of chili Verde pork. Our waitress did a great job. She apologized for the delayed huevos rancheros and assured us it was on its way. She kept out drinks filled and checked on us multiple times. The chips and salsa were good but chips are better when they’re fresh and warm. The seats are comfortable and they have plenty of seating inside available. The parking lot has limited parking so overflow parking is in the dirt parking lot to the East of the restaurant. We ordered four entrées and a sprite and the bill was $60. So $15 per entrée is at current market value. The place was clean and maintained to my eye and I did see them sanitize/wiped down ever table after every customer.

Always great food! Carnitas street tacos and a hard and soft shell shredded beef taco! Beer is always cold and the chips and salsa are fantastic.
