First time eating there. I never knew it existed, but I was shocked at the value. I walked out of there with leftovers and a $40.00 including tip. I had the fajitas Texano, with the beef, chicken and shrimp made to order, it came on a hot plate with plenty of the extras. All the vegetables were fresh. The service was great. The waiter was attentive and polite. Very knowledgeable about the menus. Nice atmosphere, music wasn’t too loud. I’ll definitely go there again. Highly recommend this place. Excellent food and service. Their chips and salsa were excellent. Not to much bite on the salsa either. One of my favorites I’ve had.

Our choice to go Mexican today did not disappoint ! El Ranchero does an amazing job! Hose our waiter, was a shear delight. The flavors and atmosphere are very nice . I really enjoyed the outdoor seating area! The place was buzzing, too!

Been going to this place for 20 years. Food has always been very good and consistent. Friendly staff, can’t remember ever being dissatisfied with service level. Pricing is very reasonable and affordable for large family.

We love this Mexican restaurant!! We’ve been several times now and have never had a bad experience. The chips and salsa are addicting and all the meals we’ve tried have been packed full of flavor and plentifully portioned. Service has been great with super friendly people, quick refills, and wonderful recommendations. Prices are incredibly fair compared to other restaurants in the area *cough cough La Parilla* and we honestly think the food here is so much better in comparison to others we have tried. This is our go-to Mexican restaurant in Woodstock!
Added review: we tried another Mexican restaurant that was just down the street after moving, and I can once again affirm El Ranchero is the best in the area. Prices are incredible and the food is just the best. Save yourself an extra bill and wasted trip and just go to El Ranchero.

Great food, great service, good prices. Been here a couple times. Lots of things I want to try. The only drawback are the tight booths. Aside from that yummy yummy.

Very good Mexican food!!!
Large cheese dip was only $6.86, and was thick, not runny like many places. The free salsa was excellent, just a hint of spice, not too hot. The combination dinners are only $7.50.

We sat outside which was nice, but the food was absolutely terrible, pre-made, over-heated and dry. The Chile relleno ‘side’ was a 2 inch slice of a bell pepper on top of over-heated queso and mystery meat puree – not a chile and definitely not a chile relleno. I questioned the server, told him I did not like it and asked for something else and he replied thats what you ordered, you must not be from around here (!). When I went to pay the cashier I again expressed my dislike of the chile relleno and she said well thank you for coming (!) Any decent restaurant would have either offered a replacement item or removed that item from the bill.
It was $3.75 so it wasnt about money, it was the principal.

A Clever Fish
I love this place. You can’t beat the food for the price, the food is excellent and the prices feel pre-covid. I’ll leave there eating for under 7 bucks and leave 100% tip due to the low cost and great service. They fix their mistakes if they make them and they’re seriously so nice.
There’s this one lady who makes this one drink that’s mango mixed with something else and she named the drink after herself. Their #1 lunch is so good and I also love their steak quesadillas. It’s also always so peaceful here.
