What a pleasant surprise. After driving many hours and feeling exhausted, this was such a nice experience. My waiter was quick, friendly, respectful and he repeated in English what I would order just to be sure I was ordering what I thought I was. The chips, salsa and queso were average, but the dinner was far above average. The shrimp, grilled veges over rice with guacamole salad was absolutely perfect. Shrimp cooked just until done. Yummy! The veges were grilled to perfection with each piece having a slight crispiness to the bite. The rice, which accompanied the meal, blended so beautifully in taste and texture. It was so good, it needed no other seasoning or tortilla. The guac salad was a bit of a shocker. There’s a definite spicy bite to it, which was unexpected. It went so well with the lettuce and cheese. Overall, I think this is the best meal I’ve eaten in a Mexican restaurant. And, I do love Mexican food. I was raised on it for my 67 years of age. Thank you for such great service and food!

Pretty good Mexican place. I thought they had a couple of items I haven’t seen before. I got their Mexican tacos, which were like a street taco with beef and pineapple and they were pretty good. My daughter got fajitas that were actually on top of a potato which she really liked and then my son got the big daddy burrito which he said was awesome. We did order some jalapeno poppers but they weren’t very good and we had them take them off the bill which they did kindly. The only other thing was my wife wanted a margarita we believe they came out of the machine here and she didn’t really care for him. She said they were way too sweet. Other than that everything was really good. The staff was super friendly and attentive. The food was good I definitely would come back again.

Our first time here. We were seated immediately. Very few people in restaurant. Service was very much lacking, and the place was almost empty. We waited 25 minutes for our food, and when it came out, my son’s chicken was burnt in his ACP. The Berria tacos were nothing like most places. My husband got 1 refill, and my son and I sat without a drink for over half our meal without ever getting a refill. I guess we will just make the drive up to Christiansburg from now on for Mexican food. Do not recommend it.

We had a very enjoyable meal at El Ranchero. Chips and salsa along with our drink orders came immediately. The salsa was very good. I ordered the fajitas with chicken and steak mixed with grilled onions, bell, peppers and tomatoes. It came with rice, beans, lettuce, and tortillas. I choose the corn tortillas. It was nicely seasoned. Hubby ordered a hamburger and fries. Our waitress was attentive and professional, but also friendly. We dinned early so they were not busy and she chatted a bit which was nice. We will go again when in the area.

We’re semi-regulars for the dine-in aspect of this business, but the pickup service was terrible. We made an order for over 90.00 and discovered when we got home that they not only left out a menu item that should have been part of a meal (a chili relleno), the relleno even had an extra charge applied for it. When we called to see if they would simply put credit for the missing food back on our credit card the person who responded to us pretended that we had never made the order despite the order having both our name on it and a reference # that we gave them. After five minutes of trying to get the person to respond, we asked to talk to a manager and they simply hung up. To top things off the food was cold …..the cheese in the enchilada wasn’t even melted. Based on this, we’re not going to trust or repeat pickup service with El Ranchero when we have guests in town, we’re now most like going to avoid the sit-down restaurant as well.

I mean… not bad but not great. The lady at the door was pretty hot but that’s all they had goin for them in terms of customer service. We had a dude and he just seemed to be goin through the motions. Didn’t seem to care what I ordered and then got it 100% got it wrong. I picked out what I didnt want and it was pretty good. Over all for me… could have been worse… but just wasnt anywhere close to a 4 or 5…. again hostess was hot though

I’m not the type to normally leave a review nor complain at a restaurant but this by far was the worst experience I’ve ever had at a restaurant. The service was subpar to begin with and then the food came out wrong and so we asked for stuff to correct it and then they charged that to my bill. My dips came out in small to -go containers not the bowls they are supposed to come in and we didn’t get a single refill the entire time we were there. I would’ve rather paid money to eat dirt.

No bathrooms during our lunch visit. The food was good, but service was a little eh. When we ordered some margaritas the waiter rolled his eyes as we walked off. Maybe it was a bad day for him, we all have them but attitude towards customers isn’t the way to go.
