This place is incredible! I get the papusas and the 3 amigos. The sofrito they use makes the black beans taste like butter – purely perfect! I always take my out of town guests here too because everything on the menu is perfect. The best part of living in south tacoma is the food – and El Pulgarcito is no exception. You know it’s good if the place local Latinos go there. Everyone should go!

Delicious! Have had several things here and it always hits. Papusas are obviously a fav and the side dishes (rice, beans, and a vinegary slaw) are SO GOOD! Makes great takeout. Everything seems to be made fresh so expect a little bit of a wait.

Yes yes yes! Delicious and absofruitly filling! Haven’t had tasty as well as reasonably priced papusas in ages!! Delightful all around. Customer service was great. Assisted with recommendations. Not a lot of great Central American food in the Tacoma area. This place is a must try!

We had the food delivered since I was craving pupusas and we didn’t have time to go out. It was good! It was truly authentic. I’m okay with the chicken and my girlfriend liked the shrimp. I would like to try some more of what is on their menu and go eat at their place next time.

I used to always come here because the food was so good. I ordered these pupusas revueltas there doesn’t really seem to have filling. Too far away to bring this back. I also have a person I order for who is on a liquid only diet and I asked for a sopa de pollo no chicken vegis or rice, broth only and when I checked my order the had it wrong then I asked them to correct it they strained everything and left a half a cup of the broth. They said they couldn’t add more broth to the cup because that is how much the order comes with. In the past this hasn’t been the case. I’m very unhappy I paid almost $20 for some broth and thick corn tortillas with no filling.

Pretty authentic Salvador food that local people recommended. Since the food is made fresh, the wait time can be a bit long like more than 30min. The only issue is that I think they over charged me since two dishes and a few pupas costed $70 which is what we the top. Was with friend and I didn’t check until much later and already left the area. So Something to watch out for

I gave a 4 star on food because everything was good except the corn tamale. On service because it was pretty much a self serve so it would be unfair to a true 5 star service. On atmosphere because its poorly lit in some areas. Nevertheless a solid 4 star.

I have been wanting pupusa for awhile and finally stopped in. I got the pork and it was good. I wish there was a bit more filling but anyway I would get another one. I am glad I finally stopped in. I will come back. Really good service as well.
