We took the recommendation of friends and gave this little seafood restaurant a try. We’re so glad we did!
Somewhat off the beaten path at Callejon San Pedro #14, El Puerto Seafood is located near the intersection of 28 de Abril and Umaran. From the outside it is quite unassuming looking, but once inside it has a relaxed, welcoming, comfy vibe.
We were greeted and seated immediately. Our server promptly took our drink orders and gave us a while to peruse the menu. This was a good thing because the menu has dozens of choices and it made it very difficult to decide. The service was excellent, after our server took our food order she checked on us several times and offered to refill our drinks.
Stacy ordered the tuna carpaccio which was served with avocado, capers, and onion. She said it was phenomenal. I ordered the whole fried fish and it was cooked perfectly, crispy on the outside, tender and moist on the inside. My fish was served with rice and roasted potatoes. It was excellent. For dessert we shared a piece of coffee flan which I loved, but Stacy wasn’t crazy about (she said my flan is much better). I was glad she didn’t like it because it meant more for me .
Service, atmosphere, and food were all top notch and when I got the bill I was shocked at how incredibly cheap it was–under 500 pesos for two beers, a limonada, two seafood dishes, and a dessert.

Great seafood and service at a great price. The wait staff were very friendly. We started off with a couple appetizers. Entree’s included shrimp with peanut sauce, shrimp quesadillas and grilled tuna. All excellent. Finished enjoying corn cake with ice cream.

Loved, loved! I loved my ceviche tostada so much, I ordered another one. My husband loved his fried sea bass. Nice staff, we felt welcomed. We will go there again before we leave.

An absolutely wonderful seafood restaurant in San Miguel de Allende kind of off the beaten path. We rented a casita within a block and a half of this restaurant for 2 months. So, we located it via Google Maps. It’s super clean. The staff is very, very attentive. The food and drinks are amazing. Oh, and the prices are very affordable. We had two ceviche main courses, a liter-sized michelada, and an orange mineral water for less than $30, which included a normal tip. We were also given 2 shots of spicy seafood soup on the house. The menu is pretty extensive and there are so many items that we want to try. Needless to say, we will visit this place many times over the next 2 months.

During middle of April, 2023, we visited this small seafood restaurant following TripAdvisor’s recommendation. After a day’s walk in town, we came to this place for dinner. This is a small and clean place and family operated with very friendly staff. We ordered Puerto Progreso (grilled garlic shrimp) and Puerto Vallarta (fried whole fish). The taste and favor of the food were far beyond our expectation and were the best during our entire trip in Mexico. The taste could compare to food in the famous restaurant Quintonil in Mexico City except there is no delicate cloth napkin, no many waiters and no large space here. In fact we came back again next day and ordered the same food. Truly enjoyed the food here. If you are in the San Miguel de Allende, I strongly recommend you give a try. The price is very reasonable. They have English menu and the lady speaks English so you would not have any problem.

Finally tried this gem on our last night in SMA. The best meal all trip. This place is a must if you’re in San Miguel.
The shrimp cocktail, fish, seafood pasta were all fantastic. We only wished we tried it sooner.

Many people might never see this awesome restaurant so i hope some see this review and make a stop here. Trust me you will not regret it. Its a small seafood restaurant that stays very busy because its so good and reasonably priced. I had a shrimp and octopus coctail and yellowfin tuna tower (kinda like tar tar)… WOW just WOW. Loved it all and this will be my go to spot when i return.
