Despite the humble facade of what was once a gas station, el primo loco boasts some fantastic food and a very gracious host.
I got the steak tacos. 5 tacos (or 10 if you count by the tortilla) with onion cilantro, and 2 kinds of salsa/hot sauce.
The tacos themselves are pretty great, 4 out of 5. I love mine with pico or radish, but the quality to price ($13) was worth it.
The hot sauce are phenomenal. The green was some roasted jalapeño that had a lot of flavor with a mild heat. The red was quite spicy and you can see it would be with just a look.
I don’t visit okc often, but if you are passing by stop in and grab a bite!

The chicken was good, tasty and not dried. But for $27 the whole chicken only included a small bit of beans and rice, only one green salsa and one red ones. It included a few tortillas. I’d say the taste was worth it but buy more or you might be left hungry still.

Other than the plain atmosphere and not so great area, this is a GREAT stop for Mexican food. The charcoal roasted meats really shine in their dishes. Cost is pretty reasonable for the portions. Also, finally a good n spicy red salsa!

We were passing through town and looking for a quick bite. The place doesn’t look like much and we got a little nervous when no one else was in the restaurant at 5:30, but the lady behind the counter was very nice. She took our order and told us she would bring the food to our table.
The food came out quickly, was very fresh, and had great authentic flavor. The portions were great.
My husband got a #13 and raved about it, and I loved my steak quesadilla, and the rice and beans I added on.
Don’t expect a fancy place, but the food is GREAT!

The food was ok. The place was dead and the chicken was a little dry probly because it had been sitting. I bet it’s better fresh.

$13 for a chicken quesadilla, got home started eating chocked on a bone, called them and was told it’s just a small bone sometimes that happens. No offer for replacement or anything…. I’ll stick to taco trucks from now on.

We came on a late Sunday night about an hour to close. I got the charred grill chicken. The flavors were there but it was a bit dry. Probably from being late. The tortillas were handmade and really good You have to buy a drink because they don’t serve water just bottles. If we are back that way. I would go again. It’s nothing fancy

My Mom wanted some pollo asado so we went there. The lady that took our order was cold. No plates or cups for our drinks, they served them from cans Food was pretty good but a bit expensive, in my opinion.
