I cannot recommend this place enough. I saw a TikTok about it and decided to check it out. The service was amazing, the food was literally mouth watering, and everything about the restaurant screamed “welcome to our kitchen” and not “this is a restaurant”, if that makes any sense. We got the Birria Ramen, and the Quesabirrias. This place is kind of hidden, so we never knew it was there. Everything was hot and fresh. And they took our allergies very seriously. We really appreciated it. Also these plates and 2 sweet teas were about $40 which is very well priced for the amount of food we got. The chips and salsa was very very delicious, I’m very picky with my salsas this had the most perfect consistency throughout. If that’s something you want to know, there you go. Everything was also very fast, but you could tell they made it right then and there.

The staff is super friendly and checks in the right amount, we were able to eat without feeling interrupted but could get assistance if needed.
They served complimentary blueberry muffins that were wonderful and fresh. I would come back for those alone!
I ordered a bacon, potato, and avocado taco as well as a beef fajita taco with beans and rice. My fiancé ordered 2 chorizo and egg. All on flour tortillas. You can tell how fresh made everything is, seriously. Especially the avocado.
10/10 Definitely try El Potro if you can, we will for sure be back 🙂

Delicious food every time we come. Breakfast, lunch or dinner. They are consistent at every meal everyday. I’ve had different dishes and they are always great! No complaints!! Friendly fast service. There’s always people here even seen tourists. That’s how you know a place is truly phenomenal!!

Restroom and dining area are very clean, which is a good sign. Found food of very good quality.
Servers are friendly and very attentive. Prices are very reasonable. I ate there two times with in 24 hours, while visiting Corpus Christi. I highly recommend them.

I was really excited to try this place based on the positive reviews, but I left feeling disappointed and confused. The food was mediocre, and some of the dishes didn’t match traditional expectations. For instance, the gorditas looked very different from the authentic ones you’d find if you searched online. The gordita was very dry. The cheese on the enchiladas was thick, cold and chewy, which made it difficult to enjoy. On a positive note, the staff was friendly, but unfortunately, the food just didn’t live up to the hype of the reviews.

My breakfast was what I was hoping for!! The barbacoa was moist, fresh tasting , but not greasy at all. My eggs were cooked perfectly, and their homemade corn tortillas were very flavorful. Service was fast, and the waitress was attentive and friendly. The place is spacious and clean looking. Prices are great and plate was well served.

Nice little restaurant. They have the best horchata to-date that I’ve had outside of Mexico. It was creamy and delicious. I had the grilled shrimp plate. Very good, but you’d better bring your appetite. My husband had the carne guisada and cheese enchilada plate and said it was good.
