Great authentic Mexican food. There are many options to choose from. Although its in a small building, the food is very tasty and the atmosphere is very cozy. I always come back here to eat. Lastly, I recommend them.

Friendly and fast service with excellent salsa. Ordered combinations for lunch and they were solid. The light margarita was excellent with a little sweetness. They have a nice patio or inside seating. Plenty of seating for larger groups, would recommend if you have a large hungry group.

We had a great time tonight at El Porto! The food was amazing, the atmosphere was great, and the service was very good. Ordering was a bit awkward as we don’t speak Spanish, but we got most everything correct and they fixed what we messed up on…it added to a very positive experience. Highly recommended

This restaurant has horrible food – when I asked for something else because the chicken and beef was so terrible, they charged me the same for a smaller meal. The food is ok for some items, but I will not go there again. Management is very, very rude if you make negative comments. Please do not go there and waste your money when there are better places that serve good food and appreciate your business. BYW – I have never commented at all about restaurants ever. Thank you.

Can’t believe I’ve never reviewed it. Probably our most eaten at restaurant in Atlanta, and we eat out a ton. Just great Mexican at good prices with friendly service. Nice outdoor patio, too.

Great meal and service. However 3 days after my meal, my CC company shared that the server modified my 20% tip and felt the need to add an additional $3. Disputed the charge online but will never come back here. Shady business practices.

Went as a single diner at lunch. Warmly greeted and seated easily. Service was attentive and friendly as it goes. No small talk. I ordered a chicken quesadilla which was quite different than many I have had in my dining life. Not crispy, not grilled. On the good side, not greasy. Loaded with fresh peppers and tomatoes and chicken that was just okay and supposedly “ fajita” but definitely boiled . The side plate was a mountain of soupy refried beans, rice that was just average. Shredded iceberg, “guacamole sauce” definitely watered down to flavorless . Finally a dollop of white that was to portray sour cream . The portions were enormous. The salsa was for my tastes, bland and milder than mild. Chips -crisp very yellow, very thick. Totopos? I asked for additional “ heat” as In chopped Serrano peppers or habanero salsa. Received a bottle of low grade habanero sauce. I have eaten at El Potro once before and my visit was on the some level of just “average”. Service is friendly and attentive . The restaurant is clean. I can say the menu is overwhelmingly laminated and massive with photos . So with any luck, one might pick a better experience. No suggestions are offered.

I visited this restaurant in Florida this past month and was very excited to find one here. But sadly, they are not the same. I thought I was ordering the same steak and shrimp fajitas but this one came cut up in pieces with chicken included. And it was not the garlic seasoning that I fell in love with. The rice and beans were not flavorful at all and the flan was not made properly. It had more cinnamon than it should and didn’t have that texture that flans are known for. I’m very disappointed. The chicken did taste well so I can’t give them one star but the steak reminded me of liver for some reason. I just can’t return. Everything was nicely packaged for my to-go order though.

Since I don’t live in Georgia anymore, I’ve been missing Tex-Mex nachos wildly. This place fulfilled my craving for Nachos done the right way. Texas Margaritas were also very memorable. When next I am in Atlanta, I would consider this place as one of my top choices for dinning in a unassuming, non-flashy spot

This place is soooo packed everytime we stop by! Don’t let the pictures discourage you, the pictures don’t do justice! What you see is what you get BUT the dishes are really well seasoned and so much better than the presentation!!!

The margaritas here are THE BOMB Two glasses will leave you feeling soooo good

We usually get Carne Anadarko plate, chimichanga plate or the enchiladas plate. This time we tried the shrimp fajitas and the shrimp was very well cooked and super flavorful!

So far, the only thing I would not recommend is the shrimp cevich
