Great food, reasonable prices. Chips and salsa came out with a free bowl if queso, which made us very happy. Food all hot, fresh and tasty. Generous portions. Dessert was outstanding!! Definitely moved to the top of our list of favorite Mexican places in Lee’s Summit.

We really enjoy this place and frequent it often. Complimentary chips, salsa and queso with spicy red salsa and salsa Verde available also on request. We appreciate that they are consistent with their food. Tuesdays at this location has import beer pint specials and Wednesdays they have margarita specials. Pictured is 2 deep fried tacos, 1 ground beef and 1 shredded chicken. Service is always professional, friendly and spot on.

I chose this restaurant for my birthday after seeing it on TikTok—it looked like a great spot. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing from the start. Our waiter seemed scatterbrained and kept forgetting items, to the point where we had to call out just to get his attention.
The manager’s attitude didn’t help. Instead of taking accountability, she acted as if we were lying or exaggerating, offering an excuse for every issue that came up. One order was completely wrong, then came back overcooked. Another guest requested an additional item so they could eat, but it never arrived. All of our food was served cold or lukewarm, though the plates were oddly hot.
We also asked for a to-go order that was never placed. Flies kept buzzing around our table the entire time, and we were constantly swatting and fanning them away. The drinks weren’t strong, and we were told some couldn’t even be made.
When it came time to pay, we only wanted to be charged for what was actually served and consumed, but they kept stalling and making excuses. I had made a reservation for 15 people and confirmed it multiple times over the phone. They even repeated, “1-5,” and I said yes. Still, they later claimed I said 50, which made no sense—especially since they struggled to even accommodate 15.
The manager acted like she had to keep coming back because we were complaining, but in reality, she had to keep returning because everything was coming out at different times and never correct.
This was my first time at this restaurant, and sadly it was for my birthday. I left feeling extremely disappointed and upset. I might give the restaurant another chance—but definitely not at this location. I hate that this is the memory I’ll have of what was supposed to be a special day. None of the issues were on us, and it’s frustrating they kept trying to shift the blame.Pictures are deceiving ♀️

Food =5 Service = 1 Loved the complimentary queso. Chips and salsa were good as well. Server very inattentive. Asked for mushrooms on the side with my veggie fajitas. Didn’t get them. Husband asked for sour cream, again didn’t get. My granddaughter dropped her fork so I gave her mine. The server never came around to see how we were doing, so I wasn’t able to finish my dinner because I didn’t have a fork. No drink refills. They do offer a military discount. Will try it one more time because the food was so good.

The food was fantastic with the portion-size being almost too generous. The chips were fresh, the salsa good, but the queso dip stole the show. It was so good we had to order more. However, the area we were sat in so absolutely freezing. It’s nice to have AC in August, but this was so cold I had to go get my dad a jacket out of the car. Even I was cold and I prefer the cold, but this was too much. The biggest issue, though, was our server. He spoke so quietly that none of us could really hear him and I was only two feet from him. We had to ask him to repeat himself numerous times and at times we still could not understand or hear what he was saying. This is not to say he was not a good server, he did get our orders correct, was quick with the refills, and quick to clear the table of dishes. It was delicious and I’ll definitely be back for more.

We were in the area and chose this place based on the reviews on Google. Even on a busy Friday night we were seated immediately. The waiter came right over and surprised us when he brought White Caso to go with our chips and salsa. The menu is huge. Everything from deep fried tacos, burritos and combo platter standards to fine dining specialties. Drinks came out within a minute. Food came out incredibly fast, piping hot and was amazing and reasonably priced to boot. I must admit that I saw a few reviews about bad service, but I thought they were probably one of the most efficient wait staffs I’ve ever seen. I live 45 minutes away from El Potro, but I think it’s thoroughly both the trip.

Everyone here had a great attitude and accommodated my food allergies with with sincerity and didn’t make me feel bad about asking for the accommodation! I have alpha gal and cannot consume anything from a mammal. I got the chicken and shrimp fajitas. Service was fast and our server was friendly & had a great sense of humor. The manager let us park in a side area with our trailer and let us sit in a closed off section so we could keep an eye on our vehicle and tools! I cannot say enough about how friendly and personable everyone here is!

I do not say this lightly- my to-go order was the most awful Mexican food I’ve ever had. The cheese dips were gelatinous and could not be eaten with a chip. The steak and chicken fajita meat looked and tasted like cafeteria food. The beans and rice could have been Uncle Ben’s from the grocery store. The tortillas and chips were stale. I am utterly disgusted by this meal and my bill was too expensive for this quality of food. Plus, when I checked my order, they had missed two items that I had to ask for.
