I recently had the pleasure of dining at this local Mexican restaurant, and I must say, it was a delightful experience! The food was absolutely incredible, bursting with authentic flavors and freshness. From the sizzling fajitas to the mouthwatering enchiladas, every dish was a taste bud extravaganza. The best part? The warm and inviting service! Joe and the staff went above and beyond to make me feel like part of their family, ensuring I had a memorable dining experience. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone craving delicious Mexican cuisine and a welcoming atmosphere. A true gem in our community!

Normally I don’t get crazy excited about Mexican food, but El Potro changed my mind about that. This by far has been my best experience with Mexican food in Boston, and I’d recommend El Potro to anyone craving the Mexican comfort food and comfort vibes! Even the refried beans (I normally order all rice) were tasty and not mushy at all.

The worst food I’ve had in the greater Boston area. Everything was unseasoned: the guac ($10 for a small cup), the chicken, the rice, the queso, the chips. The “queso” was so liquidy that it resembled the taste and texture of skim milk. The burrito was served in a “deconstructed” manner with the rice, beans, and meat on the inside, and dry melted cheese and sauce poured over, with lettuce, tomatoes, and avocado on the side. The flautas were SOGGY and undercooked! They resembled a small sad roll-up with no crunch and the chicken had no salt or seasoning. It was clear that the food had been laying out long after it was microwaved. We could not finish the plate as we felt ourselves getting nauseated as the meal progressed. There are some serious doubts regarding their food safety handling that should be addressed by the proper authorities. We left the restaurant $70 poorer (chips, guac, queso, burrito, flautas) and genuinely perplexed at how BAD every part of that meal was. Do NOT waste your time or money at this flavorless establishment. You could make better Mexican food at home.

I have loved this place since I moved to the area in 2018. I’d order takeout once a week. I still make the trip from Brighton for the Pollo a la Crema. The staff is always warm and friendly !

Typical casual Mexican restaurant in the neighborhood. Was craving for some Mexican food late at night and decided to got carne asada from this place. Overall steak and the sides were a bit salty and I didn’t like how the meat was too lean and dry. However, I did enjoy their choice of veggies on the side.
