I am writing to share feedback regarding a recent to-go order I placed through DoorDash.
Unfortunately, the order I received was incorrect and poorly packaged. I ordered two soups and chicken fajitas; however, I received steak instead of chicken. Furthermore, the soup containers had flimsy lids that failed during transport, causing the contents to spill inside the bag. The remaining soup lacked flavor, and the side condiments were also poorly packed.
I hope someone will look into these issues to improve the experience for future orders.

We have been enjoying their food for years, following them to several locations however the past 3 weeks have been horrible. For lunch 3 weeks ago I had a bug in my enchilada, last week for lunch there was a hair in my salad and tonight was the last time ever….. we took our grandkids in and they automatically charged us a gratuity…. My husband and I tip extremely well anyway, but this was ridiculous. I don’t like being charged automatically for a tip either children…. She was rude and never came back to the table and asked us for additional drinks or anything…. Sadly I will not ever go back.

Do yourself a favor and order from El Compadre or Casa Jimador. El Portillo’s food is nothing special at all. Costs nearly twice as much as other Mexican restaurants and not worth it to say the least! I will not order or go to this restaurant EVER again! My husband and I both had upset stomachs many hours, an hour after we ate .

The food was just so-so. It was highly anglosized Mexican food without a jalapeno in sight. But the acoustics are so live, and there were so many loud drunks at the bar, that we couldn’t hear a thingbat the table. The chips were old, cold, and overcooked. The service was better than average, but that couldn’t save this place. I won’t go there again.

I saw my last review with the picture of my food was removed. I ordered steak and shrimp they brought my steak out absolutely raw. I told them it was unacceptable I asked for medium. So I changed my order to steak fajitas. They literally took my steak with the wrong seasoning cut it up seared it and brought it back to me. And then told me they didn’t want to cook another meal for me. And the waitress who had recently been made a manager was extremely rude.

Sour cream enchiladas are ELITE! Compared favorably with SC enchiladas from Enchiladas Restaurant in Dallas (that’s HIGH praise). Chips and salsa are also exceptional!! Took two orders to-go back to the hospital (daughter gave birth to grand daughter) and they loved the fajita quesadillas and SC enchiladas.
