I haven’t been to El Potrero in a few years. My oldest son was feeling Hangry Joes and the rest of us were feeling Mexican, so this was the closest Mexican restaurant. I ordered and paid online so they would be ready about the same time. I did not notice when ordering that I was actually ordering through Grub Hub. My order was supposed to be ready between 430-440. I got there at 430. The man asked if I was the online order. He said I was robbed, because they charge so much more online and the tip I left, they won’t receive. He told me in the future I should call my order in, it would be way cheaper, unless I don’t care about being charged more. He spoke to me as if he were annoyed, and did not come across as a friendly FYI. He then said my order was not ready, and if I had called it in I would have received a more accurate pick up time. I left with my food about 445, the timing did not matter to me. However, I came straight home from the restaurant and my food was ice cold. Seriously cold like it just came out of the fridge. And the food is in those tin containers, so they should keep warm on my short drive home. We all had to pop our food in the microwave/airfryer. Well except my son who got hangry joes, his was still warm and was picked up at 415. The food tasted good after we warmed it up, but I do not plan on going back.

We visited on Sunday 3-1 for late lunch.We ordered the Carnitas dinner, the Birria tacos and the Pork Chile Verde. Our food was bland and not fresh. The beans were thin, the rice was oily, carnitas were oily, Chile Verde was just the sauce over carnitas. We were disappointed at the quality of our food and portion size of the rice and beans. The plate is large so it does appear to be a large serving but its spread across the plate like an optical illusion. 3 waitstaff for the entire restaurant on a Sunday afternoon? Not good. We have been here a few times in the past, very satisfied. Not on Sunday though. We all suffered from indigestion, heart burn and loss of appetite for the rest of the day. Something has changed in the kitchen and we noticed. Unfortunately, we decided not to try again. A $75 bill is not a risk I’m willing to take with food that may or may not be good.

Had a great experience going for lunch with my 2 kids and my mother. Having a daughter who is very picky eater and not knowing what to eat our waitress was amazing explaining food to her and was able to help her choose what to eat and it was perfect size for her not everything extra she would not eat. She was great when asked what she prefers and the best meals for sharing.The restaurant was very beautiful inside. And the specials they have are great prices. Will return I will say best Mexican food I’ve had in a long time.

Pretty good. I always stop by these places for a quick Mexican themed meal. They serve good portions and something about that white cheese they use does it for me. It has a very blue collar vibe fitting for our city. I like the minimalistic tacos though they make sure you get your full of meat and the medium flower shelf are puffy and light. Everything was served on time and waitress was nice and attentive. But the building itself the cleanliness of the booth etc warrant the score it got today

Always have great service & great food! Portions are always large too! We’ve tried many items on their menu & everything has always been great! We’ve gone with family & friends & they say the same thing! This is a pic of the create your own- the 3 item. The beef chili releno, stew beef chimichangas, beef enchiladas & medium tacos. But promise you won’t be disappointed in anything you order!

We had not been here in awhile. Upon entering all you smell is fabuloso cleaner, very potent. I get the mop and clean but do it after customers leave. The service was slow even though they only had 4 tables of customers. We asked for side plates for our appetizers and were given very thin paper plates!!! I could’ve just ordered it Togo at that point.

Kevin is an amazing boss but he need to step it up on the waitress I have ordered food four times in the last 2-3 months and 3 time I have had to drive back up for food wrong and then they don’t even credit u the money or food they messed up today I got the wrong crap again and I’m over it they need to pick it up because I usually don’t wright reviews but when u spend 54 dollars and it’s wrong again u tend to get mad about it
