I usually don’t post reviews but after our dinner last night I had to! They really upped their game. I had my usual combination dinner. Every thing was very flavorful and plentiful. My chile relleno was the best I’ve ever had! Service was friendly and attentive. This is our favorite Mexican restaurant in our area so this wasn’t our first time and we’ve never been disappointed. I don’t know what made it extra good last night but I just have to say thank you!

This was my first time at El Potrero. Was with a friend and we got the Hawaiian Fajitas for two. So much food. We both had 3 and still took home an entire takeout box of Fajitas and another box of the sides. Great price and a ton of food. I’m impressed. Definitely recommended!

Horrible. I saw many good reviews but I guess these people have not had good Mexican food before. I come from southwest Detroit the heart of Mexican town. I ordered enchiladas and the tortillas were hard. I also ordered a side of beans and to my surprise I found broccoli in it I think. Looked nasty and did not taste good at all. I also ordered a tostada and it looked like it was microwaved from the cheese. The service was horrible. The 2 servers did not know what was going on most of the time and messed up a few orders for other people as I waited for my food. But in the end it stems from the management and owners. I cannot blame the cooks or servers. They are doing what they were told to do. Seems there is no proper training for the servers and there is no guidance in the kitchen. Management and owners should be ashamed of this establishment. The only good thing was the chips and salsa.

So the cheese dip, homemade and is amazing.

Thank goodness I stopped.
May dinner, Bon-something – the one with the avocado, was so good, I ordered enough to cater our party 3 wks from now.
Awesome staff, fantastic food, so happy they are close and budget friendly.
PS. The food was so good, I forgot to order my mixed drink. LOL

Went and had lunch today, It seemed they only had one waitress working but she was so attentive and never made us wait for anything! The food was amazing as always, my favorite thing there has to be the guacamole Mexicano. It’s out of this world. The peach margarita was delish as well. Can’t go wrong with anything on the menu.

I’ve been to this Mexican restaurant several times and rank it among the best in this area of Michigan. I live in Southern California, so very used to good Mexican food. Give it a try, I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised and the prices are good too.

Our waitress Tracy sure knows how to please her customers. She made sure our drinks stayed full and our chips and salsa. She recommended the burrito California (OMG to die for). She just made it so pleasant. Kuddos on your customer service. The food was AMAZING. Thanks again

It’s been awhile since we ate here so we decided to stop in and I’m glad we did. My mom ordered the pick 2 and chose a chimichanga and a tostada, I ordered the Baja chimichanga and a bloody Mary. The food was delicious, the portions were good and our server was friendly and attentive. The bloody Mary was a little on the spicy side for me and I had a hard time finishing it, but it was a well made drink otherwise. The prices are in line with other traditional Mexican restaurants in the area. I will definitely be back.
