If you’re looking for a fancy atmosphere, keep driving—but if you want the best authentic, charcoal-grilled food in Destin, this is the spot. El Pollo is a true “hole-in-the-wall” gem where the focus is exactly where it should be: on the food.
The smell of the grill hits you before you even walk in. We had:
* Two 1/2 Chicken Plates: Perfectly charred on the outside, incredibly juicy on the inside. The sides were fresh and authentic.
* Chicken Burrito: This thing was massive and packed with high-quality meat.
It’s fast, affordable, and beats the local chains any day of the week. This is exactly the kind of local spot I love to support. If you want real flavor and great portions, don’t pass this place up!

I have not had chicken this good since I was in Peru! It tastes exactly how I remember.
Got the 1/4 white chicken with fried yucca and fried plantains. Everything was cooked to perfection and delicious, might be the best fried yucca I’ve ever had actually.
I’m highly satisfied and highly recommend this place to anyone.

The only positive thing I can say about this place is that it looks clean. It took a very long time for them to take our order. I was told the chicken wasn’t ready and that it would take about 10 minutes, which I agreed to. However, when the food finally came out, the chicken was hard and burnt. It seemed like old chicken was served instead. I won’t be eating here again. Plus I asked for 1/2 chicken, I don’t know what this is

Best food in Destin and at a great price! The chicken is so flavorful and the sides were great! We also got the tilapia and that was very soft and yummy. The staff was very kind and helped us since it was our first time to visit.

A/C was out I’m guessing as it was mildly warm inside. We ordered and it was 15-20 minutes before food was ready. Atmosphere is subpar.
Food was delicious. The bone in chicken has great flavor.
Fried rice and coleslaw was very good. Fried plantains were awesome.

We discovered El Pollon in Destin and absolutely loved it! The friendly staff and great food made for a wonderful experience. We ordered a whole chicken with sides, and whatever seasoning they use for the chicken is incredible—it was cooked to perfection, crisp and juicy.
Their rice, sweet plantains, and yucca were perfect, and the black beans were well-balanced. The Alfajor was delicious too. I definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for authentic Peruvian food. Five stars!

My son got the 12 wings: little spicy but very delicious and they were a good size. My other son got the steak burrito.
We got the pollo burger and 1/4 chicken.
A definite must try if you’re in Destin Florida. We will be back again soon. Great place and the food was fast and delicious!

We got tacos & burritos to go. No sauces or napkins. Fast service. Food was OK- could have been from any fast food restaurant. No one was there for dinner. Just an average Mexican fast food. Guys up front seemed nice.
