Over all their Rotisserie chicken was OK. The meat texture seem a little dry, it was all well done but I might like a little bit less cooked. The flavor was so-so. Parking is quite limit and tiny. Anyway the restaurant hour it is good choice for people who want to get late dinner, night time. (Wheaton, MD Location- open 10 am and close 10 pm)

Overall food was good. Being a peruvian restaurant I wish yucca was a a side option rather than fries.

I went to Pollo Rico and loved it! The chicken was juicy and flavorful, but the beans were the real highlight — absolutely delicious. The service was great, fast, and friendly. Definitely a place I’d go back to!

The best Peruvian chicken in the DC metro area. This is the place that first started the rotisserie chicken . All the others copied. There are some others that are real good but this is the original. Must try.
Hope you like it as much as my family and I do.

Visiting Maryland for work and some colleagues took me to El Pollo Rico for dinner. Never would have found or gone to this place on my own, so I’m grateful that they took me here. Definitely not the place to go if you’re prissy or even expect your restaurants not to look like a dive bar and be covered in a layer of grime and bathroom doors not locking and your fellow diners looking real sketch.
Considering that potatoes have been cultivated by Peruvians for 10,000 years I don’t know why I was surprised that they were fried to perfection. I love fries, but I hate most fries at restaurants, especially those wedge slices because they are never crispy enough. These fries where perfectly crispy outside and soft on the inside and were very airy. I’m amazed.
The chicken was perfectly cooked, seasoned and was very moist. The rice was good and the beans looked like perfection. Nice beautifully brown color to the beans and broth but would have benefited from some more salt.
Overall, I would recommend this place and wish there was one close to home for me.

Store closed 20 minutes before 10 PM. I called at 9:30 and no one picked up it just kept ringing when I arrived. The gentleman met me at the door and said he’s so sorry they ran out of food. I said to him how do you run out of food 20 minutes before closing he said we had a large order and we put our till away

Taste is not the best one, fries were hard. Chicken also was very hard and they take it from a place they have with more than 30+ chicken inside. So, you may notice that chicken is not fresh made it. Nothing in here is fresh. I recommend go to Crisp & Juicy better than this place. Also, can of soda is $1.50 instead of $1 dollars on other places. Price are not cheap too. Delivery guy in here looks he is very bored on what he is doing and making feel customer uncomfortable.

It’s o.k. Standard Peruvian chicken joint turning out standard fare. Tried chicken, tamale and empanada. Price is on the lower side when compared to other chains. Chicken is precooked and comes out of a warmer. Chicken is juicy enough but can never tell how long it’s been in the warmer. Sides are good and serving size. Staff is polite and provide condiments as requested. This place is busy and parking in the plaza is available.
