NEGATIVE EXPERIENCE-
I strongly suggest that you DO NOT GO TO EL POLLO LOCO IN LOS OSOS, SAN LUIS OBISPO AREA & PASO ROBLES AREA.
I had a very very bad experience with the managers. They do not follow through and keep their promises. The main manager escalated matters when I complained about an order that I was not happy with & it was clear that the beans were old and not fresh , and he did not honor what a previous manager promised as a remedy for a situation that took place in the past. He decided to give me a hard time. I brought this matter to the attention of the owner. The owner suggested a remedy, which was not a remedy, what was suggested to me clearly would inconvenience me, it is clear the owner does not care for his customers because he does not take care of them. Then another supervisor contacted me and sent me a gift card with nothing $0 balance on it as a remedy. When I contacted that supervisor and related to her that I received a gift card with nothing on it she said they would fix the matter because it was supposed to be a $25 gift card, but it had a zero balance and they never sent nothing. I strongly suggest customers not to deal with the El Pollo Loco in Los Osos, San Luis Obispo area and Paso Robles area , …… they don’t know how to treat their customers, and the food that I got was not fresh and when you bring it to their attention that something is not right they give you a hard time instead. And then they make promises that they don’t keep!

Homeless person using drink bar as her kitchen. Where’s the staff? Oh here’s someone – but he’s apologizing for making her feel hurried. He’s just waiting to fill his employee drink cup. I suppose he could have cleaned the counter while there. At least the chicken’s good.

They open fairly early at 10 am which is great. I think they should get an open sign or do something about the appearance from the outside of the restaurant. It is difficult to tell whether or not they are open. Once inside though, the restaurant is really clean. The staff I talked to were very friendly. The food was better than I had expected, but nothing too special. I ordered a Ranchero Burrito, they got it out in a couple minutes which was great. I grabbed their avocado salsa and salsa rojo to add. The burrito itself was super fresh, the cabbage makes a nice touch. Not too much flavor in it though. That being said, I’d get this over Chipotle anyday! With the added punch of the avocado salsa in particular it was quite good. Overall a pleasant experience, but they need to do something about the lighting inside and out, it looks and feels dark and closed even on a bright sunny day.

At the SLO El Pollo Loco I am so impressed with the girl who seems to run the show there. She is such a hard worker and very efficient, as are all the cooks in the back. But I just felt compelled to give her a ‘shout out’. I hope the owner appreciates what he has in such an employee. Good workers are so rare these days.
Overall, El Pollo Loco has a great product at a fair price…and I really appreciate their coupons! puts Taco Bell to shame! And appreciate their coupons!

The place is okay but the hot chocolate was a bit sad in size for being 3$ and they wanted to charge 70 cents for a little cup of sour cream over all its good for burrito sizes etc but as far as extras and servings sides id say i could get better
