Extremely Disappointing Experience at Pollo Loco
I recently visited Pollo Loco and had an extremely disappointing experience. First, the staff member at the drive-through had a noticeably poor attitude that made me feel unwelcome. Customer service is crucial during such interactions, and unfortunately, this was lacking.
Moreover, I ordered a $15 burrito, expecting a satisfying meal, but it was far from what I anticipated. By the time I was halfway through, I couldn’t finish it—it tasted horrible. If I didn’t live so far away, I would have wanted to take it back and let the cook eat it.
This is not a nice review, and I hope this was just an off day for them, but I won’t be returning based on this experience.

Ordered meal and it turns out they have no chicken ready so now it’s a minimum 20 minute wait. Fine, figured we’d sit down while waiting for chicken to cook. Place is not busy at all and there are 3 couples sitting dining.
There isn’t a clean table or spot to sit in the entire restaurant. Every area has food, rice, salsa or chicken on the table. As patrons look for somewhere to sit one can hear them say, “this place is a mess!” This is not an exaggeration. It is a mess and it is disgusting. It is 3/16/25 at 5:45pm.

Ordered on the app, said I would get a free burrito…Nope! Lady at the counter said I had to come back tomorrow. No budging on her part. Food took 23 minutes to get, even though I ordered 15 minutes prior. Ordered breast, wing, beans and rice. I received all rice. No offer of pico or sauce… One younger lady said we have no pico, i asked another employee and she gave me 3. ?? Chicken wasn’t fresh and the rice was saltier than hell. $16 for a lousy couple of bites. Deleting the app, won’t be back here ever again!

What can I say? I love El Pollo loco! The food is great and reasonably healthy, the employees they have are top notch, always polite and punctual with the food. It’s a great little place to have some lunch or dinner.

I ordered the Double Chicken tostada last week and it was great. It was a tasty meal with lots of lettuce, chicken rice and beans. This week, I brought a friend to try it and we can’t find the lettuce, rice or beans. There is HALF of the amount of chicken as last week. Instead of a tostada, I am looking at a teaspoon of beans, a tablespoon of rice and FIVE, yes FIVE small pieces of lettuce. The ONLY positive is that my friend gave me her avocado slices. Exactly why did I pay $12.99 for a 1/3 filled tostada shell?

Burrito was $12 bucks.. and just like the chips and guac I also got, it was bland and left a lot to be desired. Customer service seemed to be par for that course with minimal communication and even less courtesy..
If you drive anything bigger than a half-ton, you won’t fit in the drive thru… and im sure either the wall surrounding the drive thru or the metal bars protecting the building can attest to that…. Honestly one of the worst designed layouts for a fast food joint. Save your time, money and potential car damage for another place…

Not a good experience. First and second time visits (also the last). Didn’t get guacamole with the quesadilla. The quesadilla didn’t taste good with the salsa verde. The burrito was mainly mushy rice and cheese, very little beans, onions, and chicken. It fell apart almost immediately.
The drink machine was dirty and the drinks weren’t properly calibrated.
The double tostada was good, but I’d definitely hate to see how little chicken it comes with normally.
The salsa in the itsy bitsy cups tasted good, but there’s maybe a tablespoon of it.

I should have read the reviews before dining here. The salad I ordered was a joke! The $15 spent on a salad that was portioned as a side salad that Included 7 chunks of chicken in a “double chicken” avacado salad that had NO AVACADO in it is ridiculous!!! I am beyond disappointed and would absolutely not return to this establishment again.
