We ordered DoorDash. For our dinner and excited to try El polllo loco, and being from southern california, where el pollo loco originated from. We were extremely disappointed with the food. Especially the chicken. It was DRY and BURNT! This is not the standard for el pollo loco, at least not in southern california. Photos will follow.

So my boyfriend and I just tried el pollo loco yesterday for the first time at a different location in Hurst. We were so pleased by the service and food at the hurst location that today we were like shoot let’s have it again. This Central Road location was a complete let down. I mean from start to finish.
We walked in with no greeting/no words spoken at all from the gentleman working the front, he just stood there silently waiting for us to order. Once we finally ordered ($40 total keep in mind) the food was just horrible. Our rice was rock solid, the charro beans were thick and nothing like the ones we had the day before. The chicken was the only thing in that meal worth eating. And not to mention they forgot half of our order! We had to go back up and get multiple missing items.
The dining room was disgusting. I’m not one to usually leave reviews, but this visit just required a review. Worst service, worst food experience at pollo loco, I’d give it 0 stars if I could.

The last few times we have gotten food here, it has not been the same quality that we’re used to from them. We have experienced very dry chicken, incorrect orders, and side items lacking the flavor we crave when we eat here. I hate to leave a review with so few stars but they need to fix whatever has happened that is causing these problems.

A very great experience with El Pollo Loco. I tried 3 different dishes: The chicken soft tacos, the chicken guacamole quesadilla and the 2 piece dark meal. The chicken is very flavorful as well as the charro beans. It has a unique flavor. The quesadilla was flavorful. I just wish it had more ingredients inside or less tortilla to match the amount of ingredients inside. The soft tacos were bland in taste and my least favorite and left a lot to be desired. For dessert, the churros were cooked to perfection and great texture. Overall, I would dine here again.

I was feeling something between a fast food joint and a full serve sit down casual restaurant so I ended up at El Pollo Loco. The food is super fresh, cooked on a open grill where you can see. The quality of food for the price point is really great. I got the Original Pollo Bowl Combo as seen in one of the pictures posted on this review. It includes the drink for a whooping $5 + tax. Wow, what a great deal for freshly made food. Good, fast, inexpensive food. Enjoy!
Update: I haven’t been here a while so I had lunch there today. Everything was still good. Fresh food served quickly at a reasonable price.

Employees were friendly and the chicken was awesome! That was the good. The bad was none of the dirty tables were cleaned during my visit. Restroom had broken soap dispenser, and items not stocked. The dining room was extremely COLD!

Can’t believe we haven’t stopped before but so glad we did. Service was very friendly & the food was so good. The chicken was very flavorful and the mac & cheese was so good. The manager Denzel was an awesome manager & constantly stayed busy taking out orders but always checking on the people in the dining room. Rosa took our order & she has such a positive attitude & beautiful smile.

Worse than minimum effort food. I ordered chicken tacos and they barely had any chicken in them. They were cold from all the toppings they added and they ended up tasting slimy and kind of gross. They use those cheap flour tortillas that get slippery when wet and tear like plastic. It’s funny that they even bothered wrapping the tacos in aluminum when they were already significantly colder than room temperature.
Can’t believe I spent $40 on 9 of these tacos. Disappointing- profit inspired food
