I think they have a sewer problem because it does smell by the bathrooms, looks like they try and mask the smell and looks very clean. So im guessing its not there fault. when u sit down you dont smell anything but food but other than that this place is AMAZING! Service is 10/10 food presentation amazing and it not only looks good but its delicious. I go often because I bring everyone I know here. They even give me free shots sometimes. Its really great def recommend. My favorite server is Jose and/or his brother.

Came it for a quick fire on a Saturday. Greeted immediately at the front door proceeded with a seating near near The Dj at the booth server came super fast with chips and salsa and water. Tacos and karaoke!?
My wife and I walked into El Poblano’s and our ear holes were smacked with dance music.
After a long days drive and needing rest and relaxation, we almost left.
However we did stay and everything was great! Our Server was fantastic. He was friendly, knowledgeable and fast! Great job.
The menu has many, many options to choose from. From tacos to seafood dishes the choices are wide. Probably the most variety, I have seen in some time.
Our food was delivered fast for as busy (packed) as El Poblano was.
We had the Pablano Nachos, Burito, Al Pastor tacos. Our food was hot, good and tasted fresh.
My only criticism is the rice tasted just a bit salty and the was no pineapple on the al pastor tacos. Some places seem to offer the pineapple and others don’t.
El Poblanos describes themselves as “vibrant!” They are and it’s great. Be sure to stop and give them a try if you have not.

12/28/23 OMG, this food was so fresh. The service was above and beyond. Simple amazing all-around great experience. The time test was 15 minutes before we had food. Great time from the front of the house to back. As well as the quality of food. It tasted as if I had just gone out to the grocery store and made it all right at home.

First time visiting this spot and definitely will not be the last! The food was very good…the burrito was very good and more than enough. I only finished half of it. The chicken taco with cilantro and onions was very good as well. The 3 of us ended up with carry out so the portions are healthy. My new Mexican food spot in NW Indiana.

Freddy refused to take my nachos back when I told him they were cold. He claims I waited too long to tell him but I didn’t get a chance to tell him right away because he didn’t come to check on our table. He was the only server working the entire dining room so I felt sorry for him. So I didn’t want to complain but now I regret not making a scene because I got the short end of the stick. He tells me I waited to long and he couldn’t remake them for me….. I will never come back!!! Poor customer service… wish I can give zero stars

Oh my gosh. I had heard this restaurant was great and I heard right. Service was friendly and quick. They brought us a refill of their salsa even without us requesting one and their salsa was the best restaurant salsa I have ever had. The portions were huge. I had the (perfect, delicious) birria quesadilla and it was enough for lunch and then dinner later. Everything was flavorful and cooked perfectly. The restaurant looks like it would easily host big parties and I look forward to coming here for my birthday dinner with my whole family next year.

I rarely leave reviews, but my recent experience at Poblano was so concerning—both from a safety and customer service perspective—that I feel obligated to share.
First and foremost, the physical condition of the restaurant is alarming. Several doors are faulty and would pose a serious hazard in an emergency, making exiting quickly extremely difficult. On top of that, the overwhelming smell of sewage and malfunctioning plumbing is impossible to ignore, creating a nauseating environment. The presence of swarms of sewer and gnat flies—to the point where you’re constantly swatting at them while trying to eat—made the experience feel unsanitary and frankly unacceptable.
The food and drinks did not redeem the visit. The plates themselves were dirty when served, and I didn’t even attempt to eat because I knew if I sent it back, I’d risk being accused of “trying to get out of paying.” The enchiladas I did taste resembled sloppy joe filling, and the cocktails—which were supposed to be mango—tasted like nothing but chile and Tajín, watered down and yet significantly overpriced, with no clear explanation on the menu about what you’re ordering. (The one bright spot was the amaretto sour, which was excellent.)
What made the visit even more disappointing was the patronizing tone from our server. As someone who worked as a waitress for years and tips at least 30% because I know it’s not a living wage, I was shocked to feel as though I was being judged on my ability to pay my bill.
To make matters worse, despite the subpar service, the restaurant automatically tacks on an 18% gratuity—even for a party of two adults and two small children—and then actively solicits an additional tip. This feels more like a penalty for dining there than a gratuity for good service.
If the management wants to improve, they should address the urgent safety issues (faulty doors), health hazards (sewage odor, flies), food and drink quality (including misleading cocktails), sanitation (dirty plates), staff training, and discriminatory treatment of guests. Until then, I cannot recommend Poblano, no matter how good that amaretto sour was.

This is a delicious local Mexican restaurant who gets a lot of their menu options right! We didn’t get their birria tacos this time, but those are to die for! Tacos were good!
The only thing I didn’t care for was the ground beef used in the taco, other than that- everything was delicious!

This place was awesome. We came here to eat and relax after a difficult day. I ordered a medium margarita and it was gigantic! It also bubbles! Which was so cool. We had the birrara tacos and beef enchiladas. Both dishes were fantastic. The tacos were some of the best birrara I’ve had. The chips and salsa were so good. The service was awesome and everyone in the restaurant had a smile on their face. We will absolutely be back here. And thank you to the staff for a great time.
