The mofongo is delicious. It doesn’t taste the same as what we Puerto Ricans make either. The fried pork meat is good, it just needs more flavor. The fried plantains were soft, not crunchy.

It was definitely what you would expect. A local Puerto Rican food place offering authentic food from the island. My wife and I had the lechon with arroz con gandules and tostones. It was very pleasant. My wife said it tasted exactly like her grandmas food which is a very high compliment. Would eat here again! If only they were open later…

I love this as Puerto Rican .. but i do not love the oil it comes in. The food taste good but the oil is crazy. Why ?? If you order out the food look as if was dump in oil before putting on the plate. Why i don’t remember my mother or grandmother cooking this food with oil.. taste great but won’t be back. Apologies but I this is the third time ordering here , I order food not oil grease full food . It’s not healthy to eat oil.

The restaurant has indoor dining, and the food is prepared in the food truck just outside. Very pleased with the food. The taste was spot on, and the flavor was delicious. Had the fried pork with red rice and sweet banana. My wife had the fried pork chop with white rice and beans. Nice to have this in the area. My only complaint is that the portions are small for the price.

I was excited to try El Pilón because I was really craving Puerto Rican food, but the experience felt more like a mix of different Hispanic cuisines rather than authentic Puerto Rican dishes. The food overall was okay, but not exactly what I expected based on the name and description.
We ordered white rice and beans, quesobirria tacos, and a chicken pincho. The beans were good, but they didn’t quite have that traditional Puerto Rican flavor I was looking forward to. The chicken pincho, unfortunately, tasted like it might not have been very fresh. On the other hand, the quesobirria tacos and the consomé were flavorful and definitely the highlight of the meal.
It’s possible that other menu items are more traditional, but from what we tried, the flavors seemed more like a combination of different Latin American styles. Not bad food at all, just a little misleading if you’re specifically hoping for authentic Puerto Rican cuisine. I might give it another try in the future, but next time I’ll go in with different expectations.

We stopped here while we were in the area. Since we no longer have a Puerto Rican spot back home in Greensboro NC, we were super excited. Needless to say, we were not disappointed. Came hungry, left full and happy. So much flavor in every bite. We will definitely be back again. ¡WEPA!

This place is a food truck with inside dining and ordering. The atmosphere is very relaxed and clean and the food is always delicious.
The staff is very friendly and helpful with ordering, especially is you have questions about anything on the menu.
I would highly recommend, as we usually order from here around once a week.

Had mofongo con lechon. Amazingly good and gigantic portions. Friendly staff.
Took a long time to arrive after I ordered, but I think that’s just how long it takes to make mofongo fresh.

Rice was bland and dry, same for monfongo, shrimp overcooked, dry salty, empanada overcooked. Had good Puerto Rican food in Florida, not sure these people are cooking the food correctly. There is a Puerto Rican buffet on White Horse Road that is much better and authentic. I will go there next time.
